There are geeks of all stripes and denominations. Were someone to be
a "hypno-geek," what might that say about use or misuse of the processes
of the professed hypno-interested "geek?"

Simple Guy, who isn't "so much cooler on line" (as the words to a very
cool country song and video go). :)

Perhaps being a hypno-geek would be a great occupation if one wanted to work for a carnival biting the heads off of mice, rats, etc. May take a lot of practice in self-hypnosis to do this as an occupation.

Also a hypno-geek would be very ackward socially sooo it would be impossible for said hypno-geek to have rapport with potential clients.

Would I ever let a "hypno-geek" loose on the public? NEVER!!

Lastly, do teachers still teach English in schools? LOL!!

Stay well,
Pood

Hi Poodle,

Well, computer geeks aren't restricted to carnival work (and those
stunts would be shut down by the Humane Society) and a possible
hypno equivalent wouldn't be restricted to pros (who would have
a problem with the social awkardness when working with clients). ;)

I hope this post didn't raise your dander. About English, I intentionally
used a hyphen because I coined the word and thought it would be
easier to read with the hyphen. :)

Geek is properly used when referred to pc experts.

Raise my dander? Surely you jest! Pood :)

Hi Poodle,

I was with such a pc expert (not a client), who referred to himself
(not in a bad way) as a geek. I then asked him if he's geeky enough
to be able to do such and such. It wasn't intended, nor received,
as an insult.

You are "with" such an expert a lot of the time. His name is Don and I would put his computer knowledge against anyone's. In fact, he even has taught the subject at university level. Our Don is a man of multi-talents. When it comes to the pc world he goes from Mac's to Windows to Cisco without the blink of an eye. I quite imagine Linux is in there somewhere too.

We have some "kids" here called the "Geek Squad" and they really know less than I do about what's going on. This is also the first year that the College will teach web design. A wee bit behind the times????

Gotta make some CD's for clients so later my friend,

Pood :)

Geek.. One who is narrowly focused on one subject to the exclusion of the development of the whole person.
I doubt there is such a thing as a HypnoGeek, since hypnosis covers development of the whole person, even when done to the exclusion of other methods. On the other hand, what do I know?...:)
