For anyone who has not read it, a copy exists here: http://www.cassiopaea.org/cass/greenbaum.htm

I am curious what people on this forum think of it. I am interested in general opinions, but I am specifically interested in whether anyone believes that this degree of damage could be done using only hypnosis, without torture or drugs.

The article, from 15 years ago, was written at the end of the "Satanic Panic" cycle that resulted in the destruction of hundreds of families, thousands of lives, and at the cost of hundreds of millions in useless prosecutions for non-existent ritual Satanic ritual abuse. The fact that Dr. Hammond bought into the myths, which the FBI thoroughly debunked as, is sad. His bizarre claims of supposed occult powers and techniques of unnamed people and linking Satanism, Cabalism, Aleister Crowley and the CIA, combined with what some might claim is a paranoid fear of being murdered by these mysterious cultists, is more a reflection of his state of mind rather than any reality.

Yes, but hypnosis always gets unjustly blamed.
Every time a charismatic leader gets others to do bad things, you see this happening. It's too easy to put all the blame on the shepherd, and cleanse the herd from sins. "He hypnotized them - it wasn't their fault."

Last night was a program on the CIA in the 50's starting to develop and use LSD supposedly for "mind control". They found that LSD did not control minds as some people may regress to childhood, others into vivid memories and some just "plain bad trips". They tried hypnosis and every technique that could be thought up. It just didn't work. One of the scientists was given a large dose of LSD at a CIA scientific retreat and pretty much "lost his mind"....jumped from a tall building to end his life. Much later results indicate he was hit on the head to render him unconscious and then out the window to end that life.

I sure hope things have changed!!

You're right, RN. That's why we have to de-program clients during pre-induction interviews and talks. Often clients come hoping that we can make them change. To simply say, "I can't make you change, but you can change if you want to" will disappoint them and shatter their expectations. Presenting it in a better light--letting them know that your going to help them learn to have the power to do it themselves for whatever they want and totally change their lives forever, yada, yada, yada--is a better (IMO) and necessary approach.

..which the FBI thoroughly debunked

Dude, the FBI is so in on this.

Seriously though, I'm surprised this hasn't become a Dan Brown novel or a Major Motion Picture
The Kabballah Code
Dr. Hammond Yeggs (Nicolas Cage) of the exclusive Malibu re-hab center, Dolphin's Breath, is puzzled by the increasing number of young, beautiful, starlets being admitted for exhibitionism. While under hypnosis, gorgeous pop-tart, Lynn Z. (Jessica Alba), reveals the existance of a clandestine satanic cult through one of her many personalites. With the help of retired LA police detective Frank Messma (Morgan Freeman), Yeggs must unravel a trail that leads through the highest echelons of Hollywood, the CIA, the Illuminati, and Walmart to find the mysterious Nazi cult leader, Dr. Green (Anthony Hopkins) before the sands-of-time run out for Lynn and the internet is flooded with pornography. (180 min.)
