Just read about an Italian hypnotist, who has been arrested for a series of bankrobberies, apparently using hypnosis in the act.
Hmm, now what´s wrong with using weapons these days?
Now, seriously, I´m looking forward to see if anything more will be released on this. I could supply a link, for anyone capable of reading Danish.

ROFL, I found something here as well in a very popular, stupid newspaper. Here it's not a series of robberies, it's only one supermarket and one bank. The "hypnotist" said "Look into my eyes" and after that the cashier can't remember anything. From the supermarket they even have pictures:

Are these the same newspapers which post about alien hybrid babies?

Yes Connie, only the most reliable newspapers post about it http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article948423.ece And each of these newspaper changes the story a bit. One newspaper says 650 Euro, the next says 720 Euro.

Here's the video from the supermarket http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7300000/newsid_7309800/7309819.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&asb=1&news=1&bbcws=1
My guess is that he said "Look into my eyes, pretend to be hypnotized and at the end of the day I wait outside and give you 50% of that money" :D

One might argue that you can't be hypnotized to do things you don't basically want to do.
Sure - he took money from the supermarket, but Hey.. the checkout lady willingfully gave it to him. You can't blame the guy for not counting how much change he was handed over.
On a more serious note - I'd love to see a trial where (besides showing the obvious fact of him taking the money and leaving) the prosecution also tries proving he hypnotized the lady. Anyone know of recent trials where this was done, and to what effect?
