this is my very first post.
what brought me here:
well , in 2002 my life had a major turn even without noticing it. I had started diazepam for a little pain next to the neck. I took it for so long that i developed wd symptoms like dizziness, lack of motivation, etc, common stuff related to benzodiazepine withdrawal. For this, my doctor prescribed me paxil , i had no clue about this drug, neither had my doctor, but he insisted by telling me it hadnt any side effect or withdrawal. WRONG again. Now ,after 17 months being off all kind of drugs. after visiting hell and slowly recovering, I'm dealing with anxiety/panic/irrational fears/monophobia/agoraphobia, you name it I got it, etc, etc.
My question is which is the best therapy to help me deal with these issues?
Hypnotherapy or NLP?
thank you in advance and cnotinue the good job!:)

With so-called "medical diagnoses" you might have to get a written referral from your doctor to see a hypnotherapist (at least in the United States). If you are just "self-diagnosing" maybe you could describe things in "behavioral" terms rather than using the "medical" terms. I think a good hypnotherapist could really help you to help yourself.:)

I find it strange that you had reactions to Valium as it's actually a pretty safe drug. It does have a half life from about until h e double toothpicks freezes over tho. Now, Paxil I can understand having problems with that. Guess that's what makes everyone different, huh? and different is a good thing as it means you are one of a kind and very unique. If you can find Master Pracs or Trainer's I'd go with the NLP. We're faster in the "phobia" department -- like 10 minutes or so.
Depending where you are in Europe will depend upon the Practitioner. In some countries in Europe a medical degree or a degree in psychology is needed to practice NLP. Why not send the "Pood" here a PM and let me know which country you are in and I just may be able to help you out as I know a few people in a lot of countries!
Be well,

There is a book known as a PDR, Physician's Desk Reference.
It'll tell you about various drugs and side effects.
Coordinate with your doctor about any drug changes.
Hypnosis may resolve your issues, but complications may arise by just quitting.
So, coordinate with your MD.
NLP alone may not meet your needs but any good NLPer knows hypnosis too :)
Anyway, welcome to the forum :)

thank you Merlin, my problems are mainly anxiety related due to SSRI and Benzo withdrawal , I never had anxiety issues in my life prior to taking these drugs.
the problem is doctors dont ackowledge withdrawal from these drugs and say that we are mentally ill or that we'll have to take this for life. which is absolute nonsense.
Now i have to learn dealing with this, it's really hard, because it's not real, it needs to be treated though.
