Hi, I'm doing a report on Hypnosis and there are some things I need to know that I haven't been able to/too lazy to find so I figuered I'd ask it here.

1. What is the training for the practitioner, what does the training cost and where does one get trained?

2.What conditions does it treat or cure? What is it not good for and/or who should not use it?

3. What are the risks, if any?

4. What is the cost and leanth of treatment? Is it covered by insurance?

5. Where can one go to get the treatment or practice?

Thanks.

1. Training varies. For many it starts with a weekend class that costs a few hundred dollars. As with most professions, education is continuous and will probably cost many thousands of dollars of the years.

2. Hypnosis does not "treat or cure" anything. Hypnotherapy works under a different paradigm that is based on the concept that people are fine depending upon the tools and knowledge they have. Hypnotherapy gives a person more tools and knoweldge to effect desired changes in their lives.

3. The primary risk is stupidity. If someone is under treatment by an MD and thinks they can stop by using self-hypnosis, then they are being stupid and can suffer as a result.

4. As with any profession, cost is determined by the market. Length of treatment depends upon the experience/skill of the practictioner. In some instances hypnotherapy is covered by insurance, but it is rare and may require a referral from an MD or state-licensed professional.

5. They can go to the hypnotherapist's office or clinic. However, more and more hospitals, retirement homes, businesses, etc., are offering it to their patients and/or and employees.

As a grandfather, I have a question for you, though I suspect I will not get a reply.......When working with one of my grandchildren, which I often do, having more time to spare than parents, I am amazed that they try to get away with doing little or no study, just copy from the internet, and expect to get away with it.
Obviously you have done no research at all for this project, so what will you have learned by the time you put in your paper other than how to get away with cheating? To me, that is a waste of time spent in school, and no preparation at all for life after school is over. Perhaps it's time we closed the schools down, since teachers are not doing much of a job, if students can get away with this, and at least we would save ourselves a lot of money that is at present wasted on teachers salaries, buildings, and lost child labour. I suggest we go back to the old days, and send kids down the mines when they are eleven. TIC..............

Actually I did do some research but most sources(including this one) focuses on how it's done and what kind of research has been put into it and doesn't really cover some areas I needed to know about. And it's a good thing I did do some research cause if I didn't it would kinda hard stretching what Don said to a 3 page report.

btw I'm a junior in high school
