What I was going to originally do with my self-help cd's/hypnosis cd's, was to make them dual induction. A dual induction cd is when you have two different voices, each in a different ear giving you seperate commands. But instead of doing that I'm just going to make a couple of the commands stick out. So I need help with this. I was thinking of having the commands either do:

1.) Pan them to the right...then left...(with some delay)
2.) Using the graphic phase shifter to have them go around in a circle...
3. Pan them left to right...(with some delay)

if I pan these...is it possible to have them play...without stopping any of the other vocals right after them?...

and does anyone have any more ideas on other pan ideas...etc...to make these certain commands stick out...

Dont pan, use recording software that lets you record different tracks, and you can do dual indiction, you can interject voices, sounds) at any given moment, either right left or both, AND if you use Cool Edit, it has an echo chamber technology that lets you place a voice as if it is comming from a specific orientation, say right at your left ear, or behind you, or from over the top of your head, or from inside your head. Whats really cool is having the voice come, as if from your heart.

I would estimate that you need a minimum of four track recording capability, and to do double inductions, with the correct timing, you need a sound card that can accept multiple inputs going to separate tracks, simultaneously. That aint your average game playing ready Soundblaster.

I personally use Cakewalk as my recording software, generally use a minimum of six tracks per recording, (background music, 4 voice, and a miscellaneous sounds track) and I will record specific things in Cool Edit Pro for the echo effect and plug it into the work in being done in Cakewalk before final mixdown.

It aint cheap, and the learning curve is steep, you do want professional recordings, dont you?

And remember for dual inductions, one side of the brain uses logic and the other side responds to symbolic languaging. Use the correct languaging for the correct side of the brain.

have fun,
