Hello, this is my first post:)

I'm 43 years old and have had social anxiety for most if not all my life. I deal with it now by using alcohol, avoiding many social situations and experimenting with various medications.

None of the medications ever do anything positive for me (plus the negative side effects). I hate the feeling of being medicated:( I tend to use alcohol as a crutch at parties or I don't go at all. It goes on and on . . .

So anyways, I'm happy I found this website and am curious about NLP and EFT (not sure what this one is). Would either of these help with social anxiety? Are these techniques difficult for the average person like myself to master and put to use?

If anyone is able to help recommend a good NLP therapist in Honolulu I would greatly appreciate it:)

Thank you

and welcome. You just happen to be in the very most perfect place in the whole world as the owner of this Forum, Dr. Matt James who owns American Pacific University is in Hawaii and just happens to teach all these lovely subject matters and more. Go enjoy!

Or, in the alternative, you could send a PM to either Docresults or Skip for phone work. What's it worth to you to get your life back?

Be well,
Pood

Hello Poodle, thank you for the reply. Wow, I'm in luck. Just when things felt a little hopeless with my SAD, he's right in my neighborhood:D (literally about 1/2 a mile!) I'm going to call and get some info on Monday.

You ask what it's worth to me to get my life back. I don't think I can even put a price on it.

Thank you!

Hi, Jack (Hmm...don't say that at the airport!)

Could I request a small favor from you? I've seen people go through remarkable positive changes so quickly it surprises them.

When you go through that change and become the person you really want to be, will you come back here and let us know how great it feels?

Thanks!

Hi, Don. I'll definately come back to give an update. For starters, I've decided to try the phone work first, just because it seems a little safer for me at the moment.

It's good to hear that it works so well for people. Let's hope that I'm one of them, too!
