Hello everyone, I'm new on this sight and I would like some advice.

First off, In th past year, I developed an interest in hypnotism and I've been conducting some research on my own. So far I've been successful in most of my attempts. I've helped a few of my friends and even got nicknamed "The Relaxation Hypnotist" by a couple of them. although I'm still researching, a few of them come to me for help. I even helped a friend realize how much they care about someone and now their engaged.

Anyways, my method mainly revolves around comfort and imagination. Although I've been pretty successful with this method, I would like to try others.

This is my first request: Would some of you please give me some pointers? You know, on the other methods, and how to use them correctly.

1. My second request is maybe for someone to answer my questions.

2. How come I can't hypnotize someone everytime they come to me?

3. How come I have difficulty hypnotizing someone who is hyper and extremely giddy?

4. Are there really such things as "Trigger words"?

I would appreciate some answers.

Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
I'd encourage you to read my FAQ.
It has a lot of the basic about hypnosis.
It might stimulate even more questions.

First, let me applaud you for your interest and your success. It feels wonderful to help someone, doesn't it?

Concerning your first request: Unfortunately, forums are not a good place to teach. They can give tips and suggestions and direction. Respectfully, I would direct you to take some in-person classes. Combined with books, video, and audios, in-person training is the best way to learn.

Question 1: Sure, there are lots of people here who will answer your questions. However, as is frequently the case, a "simple" question may actually have a complex answer requiring background information. So for some question there will be easy answers. For other, the best answer is get some training.

Question 2: There are too many possibilities to give you a single answer to this question. IMO the most likely answer is that you have a limited number of inductions, are not trained in observation of subjects for feedback on what you're doing, haven't "programmed" them for easy induction, and are not aware of the language you use which may prevent them from re-establishing rapport and letting themselves go into hypnosis. Again, a good training will resolve this for you and you'll be able to hypnotize most people every time.

Question 3: You have trouble hypnotizing hyper people because you equate hypnosis with relaxation. People don't have to be relaxed to be hypnotized, but my guess is you only know the type of induction that involves relaxation (technically known as a "progressive relaxation" induction). With training, you'll learn ways to hypnotize such people.

Question 4: Yes, there are "trigger words." However, they either have to be set in place by the hypnotist during a previous induction, or might more appropriately be called "triggering an interruption in a behavior pattern with the use of a word." All of this is taught (or should be taught) during beginning or advanced trainings.

I hope this answers some of your questions. The keys to being a great hypnotist are found in training, study, and practice. I hope you will have the opportunity to expand your current hypnotic techniques to become a fine hypnotist.

Good luck!

Please expand on your understanding of the word "research". To me,anyone who researches something knows enough that they have no need to ask questions of others since they are intent on improving what exists...

May I suggest please a good training course on hypnotherapy and then really read all the books?

Inductions are the easy part.
