can hypnosis/hypnotherapy/nlp/time line therapy make something worse of the problem is actually something physically wrong and not mentally wrong?
so if someone says they are getting loads of head pains and pressure and there doctor has said all it is is stress and anxiety and so someone has hypnosis to help but it is actually something more serious then can it make matters complicated?
Pain is a signal from the body to the brain that something is wrong. It can be cause by something as simple as minor stress to something as serious as a growing, cancerous tumor.
Hypnosis can be used to get rid of pain. It works powerfully and easily. NO trained, certified hypnotherapist would treat pain without getting a referral from a doctor. If you, or someone you know, goes to a hypnotherapist with some sort of pain, it would be appropriate for the hypnotherapist to send you, or that other person, to a doctor for a complete check up and a referral.
I I were suffering from pain and went to a hypnotherapist and he or she did not tell me to see a doctor first, the very first thing I'd do is find another hypnotherapist.

Physical or mental? They are kinda the same.
We refer to them separately for convenience of discussion.
Can things be made worse?
Yes
The hypnotist should work in partnership with the doctor!
Hello Guest,
You will notice that both Don and Merlin strongly advise you to make sure that your doctor is working in collaboration with your hypnotherapist and I couldn't agree more.
Since doctors are not infallible I would also suggest that you get a second opinion from another doctor, and possibly a specialist. At the very least this will serve to set your mind at rest with regard to the source of the pain, and lessen any anxiety you may have on that score.
