I want to know how to word suggestions right. What words to avoid, which words are good, etc. However I can't find a site that has guidelines or anything with this sort of thing. Is there some PDF or some step by step guide to hep?

Or do any of you know some quick pointers? Thank you so much..!

PS: I'll tell you what kinds of suggestions i want.. well i want to be more creative. also, have more energy and i want to enjoy going to university. things like that.. thank you for taking ur time to read this!

Hi, Curt.

Ahhhh, I wish it were that easy!

There are some rather dogmatic traditionalists who will say that you should never use negatives and never use the future tense. They are the hypnotherapists who are lucky to have 25%-50% success rate.

You see, while there are some general directions in making suggestions, the truth is that the way to generate suggestions is a combination of the hypnotherapists training and experience combined with the past experience and needs of the client.

No book can give you experience. No book can tell you what the past experiences of a client are. No book can tell you what a client needs. (In self-hypnosis, the client, of course, is you.)

What books can do is give you basic ideas. You might check the book, Handbook of Hypnotic Suggestions and Metaphors by D. Corydon Hammond.

IMO, the best way to get experience and learn the needs of a client and learn how to uncover their background and experience is through getting in-person training where you actually work with other people.

Let's look at just one thing you're looking for. You "want to enjoy going to university." The real question, however, is "why wouldn't you enjoy it?" Further, even though you think you might be able to answer that question, the real answer and solution may be hiding in your unconscious. In training you'd learn how to find the information hidden in the unconscious.

I hope this makes it clearer.

The way I read your post, what you want is to motivate yourself, is that correct? If so, why would you bother to use words? You already know what you want, you just told us. Telling your own mind verbally is not only a waste of time, but will get you certified as a lunatic if you do it aloud...

Since it is a waste of time to use words, what do you suppose is left? When you can answer that question, you will be well on your way to doing it successfully.. After that, it all depends on how hard and how long you are willing to work at it.
Question....Why didn;t I just tell you instead of making you work for what you want?
