hiya Everyone :)
i was wondering if nlp could be used to help someone develop new nerve connections or help people who have sensory deficits due to lack of development in particular parts of the brain? if not nlp would there be another technology available to aid people in this way ??
thanks for your thoughts.

i dont know alot about the brain, but as far as im aware nerves ounce broken cannot be reformed, if there is another nerve in teh brain that bi passes teh broken one and does teh same job then perhaps nlp could help, but im pretty sure it could not heal broken nerves.
You may be interested tho that cloning is a possibility for fixing broken nerves, not sure about the brain, but it is possible to clone your spinal cord when you have broken your back and connect up the two ends of your broken spinal cord with this cloned spinal cord, as of yet i think this procedure has only been done on rats but it was succesful.

Ajnata,
When some self-healing is facilitated through hypnosis or NLP, it is plausible
to presume that some of it takes place via neuroplasticity. I only
speculate as neurology is not my field. Other processes that seem
to encourage "new nerve connections" include speech therapy and some
physical therapy regimens for stroke patients. I recently heard of a woman
that lost all sense of smell. This woman used visual stimulus and
memory to retrain her brain to recognize fragrances.
