Hi All,
Interesting news. **** colossal news!
As we all know genes carry DNA information. The DNA interacts with RNA, to make protein chains, which do things, for the various cells, in our bodies.
DNA is the blueprint, RNA uses the blueprint, to build the protein chain, which does stuff.
Got it?
Researchers have come up with what they call RNA Interrupt (RNAI) which is specific, so specific, that they can target specific genes, and or DNA strands, and 'turn them off'.
Work being done now, with a roundworm, that has a life cycle of 14 days. These worms actually act frisky, then get lathergic, and die, in 14 days. No I dont know if they get wrinkles. After targeting specific genes they believe are associated with ageing, they have worms that are 144 days old and still "frisky".
This "basic research" has now been duplicated in rats.
Hummmmmmmmm curious eh?
For more information, search RNAI, and that will give you more than a start.
OK guys, does anyone percieve any meteoric metaphoric potential here?
