Hi,

I got a question.
Would NLP (in english) work to non-American/British/Australian who understand and can speak english? Or should it be conducted in the subject's mother language?

Thanks

There is absolutely no reason why you cannot learn NLP in English. You obviously write well enough to understand. NLP is not just for people that have English as a first language. It has been translated into most all of the languages of the world.

Go do it. It's fun and will change your life for the better.

Be well,

Pood, while you comments are exactly accurate, I'm not sure that it answers the question.

As I understand NLP, if a person has English as a second language, you can still use NLP with him/her in either English or their native tongue.

Some cultures may have certain behaviors that are not "Western standard" and you may not to make changes for that, but if you are trained in NLP you should learn how to work with any individual quickly and easily.

English is my second language (spanish first) and I got the training in english and I'm sure it works :) the only problem I had was when doing exercises with other people that required lots of talk to elicit states or do trance work so I mostly did non-verbal elicitation going into the state myself and letting the other person copy me. Ah! also some people laughed at times and I didn't... I guess I lost many if not all of the ambiguities :)

As for using NLP in other languages, in spanish at least, I couldn't find any good translation that wasn't literal, except for the structure of magic, so you loose all the pre-made ambiguities, presuppositions and almost everything that's pre-made. I copied all the examples that I could find (from patterns 1 and other books both in spanish and english) and re-wrote them in spanish in a notebook and worked from there. This is a large process and I'm still working on it.

Thanks Since your English is suspect, I have a some doubts in your case..:D
You begin, "I got a question".....Well good for you, did it come wrapped, or unwrapped?.... Never mind, we understood perfectly, in fact nobody seems to have notices the gaff.....
Why should you suppose that all persons to whom English is a second language would be at the same level so that ALL would either react to English in a positive manner, or react negatively? Fact is, it's a question that has no answer, which combined with your name, suggests a hoax to me!!!!!!
