:D Hey Guys, my name is Trent, and i am a new member, but I have been reading forums for a while.

I was wondering if you people think that the James Braid induction is any good, because it is a rather fast one. I am still wondering on whether i will try it out on one of my friends or not, because it may not be reliable.

Could someone who has tried it, please tell me if it is any good

thank you

Hello,

The Braid method works (at least the one Braid wrote about).
Kinda hard on the eyes tho.

A beginner method would be the Elman induction.

In my limited, neophyte experience, I've found guided imagery most effective. Before inducing trance, I ask the participant if there's a special place they'd like to visit. I explain that they need only close their eyes and think of all the wonderful qualities that define the experience for them. I perceive at least four advantages to such a method:

It puts them at ease
It piques their curiosity
It instills the confidence that they can control their experiences
It inserts a few indirect suggestions immediately
During their fantasy, I try to suggest they focus their attention on particular patterns: They might feel the leg movements of the horse they're riding on, watch as ocean currents glide gently along a shoreline, or hear the rhythmic harmony of birds from a forest floor. Rhythm and repetiton always seem to improve trance.

Once, after reviving a fellow mddle school student, she gave me a long and heartfelt hug. Now that felt good to me! :o

 Oh ok, imagery tends to take longer than the other things that I do, but I will give it a go, thank you. :)

That's not quite what I meant. You said, "imagery tends to take longer than the other things that I do" and I assumed you meant you rely on other techniques.

Do you? If so, I'm curious to know what other methods you use.

Thanks,
Brian
