Shapeshifting

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of hypnosis used in connection with 'shapeshifting' and had any thoughts on it. ...
I am not interested in the effectiveness of these particular cd's, only in the concept of 'shapeshifting' and any experiences people have had.

It sounds interesting but I couldn't find anything on the forum archives when I searched.

Shapeshifting is the supposed change, usually temporary, of the essence of a person from human being to that of another living creature. The most famous myth of shapeshifting is that of the werewolf. Although some people claim the appearance change is physical, most acknowledge that it is spiritual. Inwardly, this changes the mind-set of the practitioner, enabling the person to experience all of the benefits and disadvantages of being another animal. For example, you can experience the strength, speed, and enhanced senses of a lion by shapeshifing into being a lion. The chosen animal also appears in a person’s aura, so others—even if they can’t see auras—may get the impression that the person is the animal and not human. In the movie “Altered States,” the main character shapeshifts from human to pre-human form. The myth of the vampire, according to Bram Stoker’s book Dracula, indicates that the vampire can shapeshift to wolf, rat, spider, or mote of dust on a moonbeam. Shapeshifting is most commonly practiced by shamans.

The "classical" version of shapeshifting is as Don wrote. It is used a lot for astral travel and OBE's. Native Americans use it in sweatlodges. I just prefer for shapeshifting to be in your "area of expertise" and Connie's accomplishment. ;) Pood

Sorry for the confusion. Yes I was talking about shapeshifting in terms of hypnosis. I originally posted a link to clarify but unfortunately it was to a commercial site so it needed to be removed (sorry!). I have cut and pasted a bit of the text from the link below that hopefully clarifies a bit:


Shapeshifting is the ability to change the shape of a specific energy field which may pertain to a physical object or something that is intangible. This term is most often used in reference to your ability to change the shape of your body. It is broader sense, it also includes changing your environment.
For most people, shapeshifting may trigger out images of warewolves and cat-people, perhaps because these were most popularized through various stories and movies. While you can shapeshift into anything, throughout history people had most often shapeshifted into different animal forms. The purpose of shapeshifting has never been impressing others, but rather partaking of strength, wisdom or power pertaining to the specific animal and for the sake of gaining some learnings....

I've witnessed shapeshifting before. It was shocking, let me tell you! Mark Earlix was giving a workshop in energy healing, and I attended. I think what he did would qualify as both energy and physical shapeshifting. In one demonstration, his face physically changed. As did the room and the lighting in the room--or my perceptions of it. It became someone else's face. He was manipulating energy in ways I'd never seen before. I remember he also manifested strings of light running between his fingers, etc. Fascinating stuff!!!

I have never heard of shapeshifting in the classical sense in hypnosis. It is more of a meditation to connect with the power animal and use it's senses for a little while. Maybe I am limiting myself here as a friend of mine had someone in trance that was up against a "brick wall" so she had the person turn into an eagle and fly over the wall. I don't know if that qualified as shapeshifting or not. Obviously it did in the client's mind.

Well, this is going to sound a little "woo woo." No, a LOT woo woo. :D He said he was accessing a past life (on his face). We all saw the same thing, independently. It was an older man's face. We did this looking technique on each other in the workshop, and saw things as well. It's very subtle, and difficult. At least it was for me. When I saw the changes on Mark's face, I think I started hyperventillating. The room was changing as well, and I started freaking out--somewhat. It was powerful. And very, very strange.

Later, Mark was doing some energy healing on me and I could FEEL things happening in my body. Pressures, changes. Pain. I fainted, which was a strange experience in itself. He's the real deal.

Thats really fascinating and really useful :) It may be "Woo Woo" but am convinced that there is a lot to be learnt there!

Its great to find out about people who are the real deal in terms of their skills. That is very valuable info. Thanks! I will definetely find out if he ever comes over to the UK. If not thats another thing on my list to do when I get over to the other side of the water :-)

How should a person react in the moment she sees that near her / him, but has no previous knowledge of that? Wouldn't she / him get anxious / afraid?
