Thanks Ann, it was certainly good for us. We celebated with a Turkey dinner at out son in laws parents condo on Saturday, more turkey on Sunday at our youngest daughters, and this evening we had our youngest son, his family, our oldest daughter again along with her husband out to a chinese restaurant for a change of diet....

Terry, I'm happy you have your family around you--that's so nice! This US Thanksgiving, it's just going to be my hubby and me!

Terry, I'm happy you have your family around you--that's so nice! This US Thanksgiving, it's just going to be my hubby and me! But hubby is your family is he not? Remember as you make comparsons, that the joys I have now were once pains and hearteaches for years. Well, the boys anyway, my daughters were always a joy, but we always worried about them making good choices of friends and husbands, that never stops until they leave home and marry....
We so often glibly say, "you get what you ask for". Fact is that has been my life. I wanted a family and got it. I wanted two boys and two girls, I got them. I wanted them to grow, prosper and learn!!!!They are stil a work in progress, but getting there....
Now I concentrate on my grandchildren, and they are another joy, but less worrry. Damn it, let their parents do the worrying, I just want to enjoy in peace....:D

Hi, Terry! The comparison is not between me and you, it's between me and the type of big-family get togethers we had pre my parents' deaths. Now there's no family cohesion, and my 5 brothers and sisters and their families are scattered across the country and one brother and his wife always spend Thanksgiving in Mexico. I miss the big family "do's."
