Also on the topic of weight loss (one of my favorite topics), what do you all think of a "hypno workout cd?" I could create one for myself. Would there be physical benefits for my body if I imagine myself at the gym, working out, strength training, doing stomach crunches, working out on the cardio machines, etc??? If the mind can't tell the difference during trance of an actual experience and an imagined experience, would that speed up my metabolism and burn calories and give me some health benefits as though I had physically been there?

I still plan on going in the flesh, too, of course! :D I'm not paying that gym membership fee for nothing! :p But would these proposed hypnotic imagination exercises "do anything" for me in terms of helping me with my weight loss goals?

Hi Connie,

That would work.
But it shows your mindset is in the body=machine medical model.
You see, exercise breaks down muscle tissue (simplification).
The mind realises there is a need for repair, and gets to work.
If you cause damage often enough, the mind will compensate by building/reinforcing the tissue in anticipation of the distruction.
So, why not just have the mind build muscle?

As for calories, that's also the machine model.
Why not just have the body pass the calories it doesn't need.
It does this anyway, just not to the degree you desire.

You can make yourself a CD with Merlin's advice. It does not have to be at night. Give yourself an ideomotor signal that will start the process in your mind. You can change your metabolism too. It may take listening to that CD a while before the mind really catches on to what you are wanting.

Your mind has already learned to do these things so now all you need is to recall that learning and ask it do it. Your mind knows how to make muscle VERY WELL!!

Last week I slowed my heart rate waaaaay down for sleep and forgot the suggestion to restore upon awakening. I felt like crap all morning. Wondering why I had a flashback to what I had said -- OOOPS -- back into trance with the correct suggestions.

Thanks! I will give myself this suggestion! :)

Connie, anything which concentrates the imagination on attaining a goal will give positive results. What you are suggesting is what I call, "body sculpting". If you want to try it on hubby, let me know and I will send you the method exactly as I developed it. I have not as yet found a means of self use only that is reliable, possibly because I have little faith in self help for clients, but you did say he was interested in losing some of that excess fat?

Terry, I would be THRILLED to use your method. THRILLED. He does have some fat (mostly around the middle) to lose, too. He's my workout partner, we go the gym, walk around the track (he jogs, I walk), he's taking martial arts... We're both committed to this! Also, Terry, my hubby is a hypnotist, too (most of the same trainings and certifications that I've had--and he's GOOD!) so he can work it on me, as well!!! :D I'll send you a PM with a good email address for me! Is this something you can email?
