This story is very strange, and, for some reason, I find it disturbing, too. Maybe because I don't like cats. My mother had a lifelong phobia of cats, if one had "joined her" on her deathbed, it really would have pushed her over the edge.

Have you never heard the death howl of a dog who's owner is dying, or has just died? I have experienced it many times, including when my father in law died, and he was in hospital at the time, not at home. I don't see it as strange, but then I accept that animals have better honed senses than we do, and it is happening all the time though we aren't observant enough to notice....

Could be very interesting to "model" Oscar for a NLPer to find out exactly what he is doing and why. Carmine "modeled" one of his dogs and gained a very interesting insight.

No, I hadn't! :p I suppose if I think about that scenario, the animal might be picking up signals from the other humans' emotions. This cat would PREDICT who was going to die. I find that unsettling for some reason. They said it's not a friendly cat, either, who didn't like people and only cuddled up to them at the very end. Shall I photoshop a picture of the grim reaper with a cat face on it?

even made the big news on CNN. It's a pretty cat. I just don't want it around here! My three pound "mighty dog" would chase it away. She doesn't believe she's small. That's what happens when one has no negative or limiting beliefs. LOL!!

My cats attempt to suck every last morsel of heat from me too. Narcassistic little bstards (not at all like their owner of course.)

A dog will sit by a dead owner. A cat will sit on a dead owner.
Jack
And if left long enough without food, either will eat their dead owner.

that people have been known to devour dead companions under dire (starvation) circumstances.

Not me! Hell would freeze over before I would ever have taken a bite out of that old Pood of mine. Once a MD told me the number of days a human could live without food, water or sleep. As it turned out sleep was the most important of the three.
Anyone else ever find different statistics?
Given severe hunger it could be quite easy to eat a stranger (with an appropriate sauce), but perhaps not a family member or close friend.
Unless very fresh.

There's an old joke like that. It goes something like:
No, I LOVE children.......with lots and lots of gravy.

There was once a guy that lived in your neck of the woods. I don't think he was a very nice guy. He told me if my Poodle ever put one paw on his property he would shoot it. He didn't have to worry tho as we would never have thought to trespass.
There are other people in the world that love cats as much as others of us love dogs. Hmmm, can one be a witch and have a dog as a "familiar"?

Once there was so much, you don't want to know, and what was really at stake you don't want to know either. Not sure what exactly is going on but in case... i didn't mean anything 'dramatic' but I hapened to be barked at before.......
