Hello everyone,
My girlfriend has some severe emetophobia (I just looked that up, it's fear of vomit- whether it be people puking, herself puking, people making puke noises, movies that feature puking in any way, shape, or form, etc.). I was told by someone that hypnosis could be a potential treatment for this, and was wondering if there is any way to go about finding a list of hypnotherapists in Manhattan or the surrounding area that would treat this sort of thing. If anyone has any information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you tried looking in the phone book and asking the ones listed?

Thanks for stating the obvious, I thought that it might have been implied that I was looking for a recommendation, or perhaps a personal experience with the same problem. But, thanks for the useless answer. I'll state my question more clearly in the future.

Dear Guest,
What is the distance/time from Manhattan that your girlfriend might be
willing to travel?

Hard to say, I'd imagine somewhere around an hour. Do you know of anyone in particular?

Dear Guest,
I know of someone that is about 1.5 - 2 hours away via Amtrak. If someone
does not suggest someone closer and if you and she are interested, you
can register on this forum and I'll provide you further information through
the forum's inbox.

Well, you know, I wanted to understand if you're a thinker or an asker. So, have you asked the people in the phone book if they can help or not? It's not a useless answer. I want to know.
You can contact the NGH ( www.ngh.net ) and click on the button for referrals. You might also try contacting the ABH ( www.hypnosis.com/email.html ) and click on the top link to get the email address.
Tell either organization where you are and what you're looking for to get a recommendation for a qualified hypnotherapist in your area.
