Hey everyone, its been a while since I posted here. Heres some good news, I quit biting my nails via a commerical product that I won't mention in here, but if you would like to know what I used, just hit me with a private message.

On to the subject matter. Recently I talked to someone who dabbles with hypnosis and self hypnosis. This person told me that what I should do for self-hypnosis is to create a script that basically trains me to go into trance, come out, use deepener suggestions, and drop back into it. This is probably something that I should have used originally to help future suggestions to stick. By training oneself to go into and out of trance, with deeper and deeper levels, is this more of a "sure fire" way to guarantee that further self-hypnosis recordings will be more effective?

Heres the outline of the script that I plan on using (minus the induction which I am still working on):

Induction
I will edit this post later with the beginning of my induction.

Deepener
in a moment, I am going to open my eyes...and when I hear myself say...deep trance now...my eyes will become heavy and close...and I will instantly drop into an even deeper hypnotic trance than I am in now...because every time I enter a trance...I go twice as deep as the time before...<pause>...In a moment I am going to count from 1 to 10...and when I get to the number 10...my eyes will be open...and I will be fully awake...aware of my surroundings...feeling fully refreshed...

1...becoming aware of my surroundings...2...I'm beginning to feel myself waking up...3...coming to the surface...4...becoming energized...and fully refreshed...as if waking from the deepest possible sleep...5...(for sake of breviety)...10...eyes open and fully awake and aware of my surroundings...

ok...now that I am awake and my eyes are open...I am going to go back into an even deeper trance than before...because each time I hear myself say the words...deep trance now...my eyes will become heavy and close...and I will drop into an even deeper hypnotic trance...than the time before...because each time I enter a trance...I go twice as deep as the time before...allowing me to fully accept these positive hypnotic suggestions...as I am now...learning to go into a...deep trance now...twice as deep as the time before...because each time I hear the words...deep trance now...I instantly drop into a deep hypnotic trance...<pause>...

I'm taking as much time as I need in the next couple of moments...to allow these positive suggestions to become a permanent part of me...inherent... built in...wired in...<pause>...because...while I am dreaming...as I am now...these positive changes in my behavior become even more apparent to me...

Awakener (It was suggested to use a pressuposition to 'lock' the changes into place).

I will awaken from this trance...only when these suggestions are where they need to be...embedded deeply within my mind...

I'm wondering if anyone who's reading this can give me suggestions on how to improve this script (wording, suggestions, etc.). I personally love the idea of the awakener presup. and the part of "while I am dreaming", because everyone dreams...

NOTE: I will end up using my sound editing software and repeating the entire deepener part a few times (5 maybe), to train myself to drop into an even deeper trance.

Why don't you just give up and go to a good training? I'm glad your audio products worked. 99% don't so consider yourself lucky. You don't need to tell us as what worked for you probably won't work for the next person.

If you don't want training, how about a trip to a professional certified hypnotist/therapist to learn self-hypnosis correctly?

I'm glad you quit nibbling on your nails. You could have done it with NLP with an away strategy.

Be well,
Pood

Whats an away strategy. I understand the idea of moving toward and moving away. Could you further explain this.

Thanks

Away strategies are good and have their place in life.
Consider the fight/flight instinct.
Flight is away.
It doesn't matter much where you go. as long as it's away.
There is usually a stronger drive for away than for towards.

But away has no destination/goal.
It's poor in that respect.
away from poverty is less valuable than towards a million dollars.

Strategy refers to your internal thought processes.

You can have both. Away from poverty and towards wealth.

In that way you can always remember what it is you are going towards, and more importantly why.

With some of the sportspeople I train I remind them of what they were, if their motivation is flagging. Bang! the motivation is back.

Yes indeed.
I use away for its motivational kick, followed by towards to give direction.

The "away" came to mind because someone at NLP Trainer's Training was biting their nails. After Bandler got done with them, (about one minute) I seriously doubt they would EVER put one finger in the mouth again as long as they lived. In fact, I doubt if they would be able to eat "finger food". He learned from Virginia so when he makes it away, it is REALLY AWAY. Even with tobacco in the AWAY pre-talk, you can say: Mary Had A Little Lamb, etc., etc. in trance and it works perfectly.

So I started listening to my deepener/trance conditioning mp3 last night that I made. When I got to the part of opening, then dropping back down...its like it got stronger and stronger each time. It almost felt like my muscles became heavier each time...

What all does one feel/experience when falling back under with deeper levels of trance?

It is subjective, MD. Everyone's experience is different because everyone is unique.

Whatever is being suggested.
