Hey Everyone,

I have had a few lucid dreams in the past, and hypnotherapy says that we're more amiable to sugestion the deeper in trance we are, so what deeper trance is there other than sleep? If we are in a lucid dream state (able to control our dreams) and project what we wish to happen in our waking hours on the movie screen of our dreams then aren't we most likely to see that happen after waking? maybe more so than the effects of normal self-hypnosis?

Let me know what all of you think

Cheers,
Aaron

Who exactly is hypnotherapy? Have you personally met hypnotherapy? Is hypnotherapy male or female? What is the definition of DEEP?

I have lucid dreams every night and so does my dog. So? It's fun to watch the old Pood chasing something in those dreams with feet going and an occasional soft "woof". Hmmmm, I bet Cooper has something to say about this!

yes i have met hypnotherapy, he is a purple dragon that breathes love for everyone to feel.

Lucid dreams on the other hand, by lucid dreams i mean being conscious that you are dreaming, within the dream state...you are catatonic when this happens, and are even conscious of you lying there in bed and let's say...being able to fly within your dream at will, or any number of self chosen cool things.

Have you been reading a certain website that tries to explain lucid dreaming with hypnosis and psychology? If so, then they are a bit off.

I can't see lucid dreaming can be anything other than a fun experience, you are actually still dealing with your conscious not your un conscious while you are in the dream. And as your conscious self you would still carry all the emotional baggage you deal with in real life, if any of this is due to your situation then the lucid dream could prove a positive experience and perhaps lift your mood otherwise say a person suffering from OCD realises they are in a lucid dream is not then going to be absent from any OCD tendancies whereas in hypnosis I'm guessing they could be helped. I have had one lucid dream....I was dreaming and then noticed something wasn't right, this must have awoken my conscious as I then thought 'Oh my, I'm dreaming' but then actually woke up. I'm a little scared of the thought of lucid dreaming...I don't know why?!I have never met anyone who has had a real lucid dream. Sleep paralysis on the other hand, who hates that!Had it for around 30-40 seconds once and I was soooo scared!

Sorry I meant subconscious not unconscious in that last post!

there are esoteric works on Lucid Dreaming and to my knowledge a person can actually at will make a normal dream, Lucid, if he knows how. and concerning Poodles reply i didn't find it on any website where they tried to string them together i was trying to come up with a new concept, piecing them together to form maybe a tool we can use. If we know that beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything we see isn't real or that we are dreaming and it's just all in our head, then how could we have the same limitations that we have in a waking state if we choose not to. i agree with Laurz though...Lucid dreaming kind of scares me too.

And by sleep paralysis I mean the scientific evidence that after we enter a certain range of brainwaves our body becomes imobalized, even pain can't be felt.
