Solaris,
It's good to be wary of spam which the moderators, thankfully, attempt
to spare us from. However, knowing the post is by Terry, I've no doubt
that this information is only intended to be helpful to us. Nothing more.
Hello Terry,
Thanks a lot for letting us know about the Gil Boyne books etc.
As for spam, it was hardly that, just a very useful note for those of us interested in the 'old style religion'.:) Anyway, I remember Spam as a rather unsavoury meat concoction of uncertain if not dubious origin. Spam fritters- the taste buds recoil in horror!

Yes Jack, I well remember it during the war, now of course we also have Kam,Spork, and lord knows how many others, all equally horrible, and full of fat..
As for the post, I came across the information on another board in a notice from Gil Boyne whom I have never met, and know very little of, but I do know he is in his eighties, hence the elimination of his library, and I note that many posters here ask about were certain books now out of print can be obtained, so it seemed kind to let them know. I imagine even Don and Skip might find something of interest there, so perhaps someone might like to get a list or something. terry.
Terry,
Thanks for the heads up, I went to the sight and found nothing regarding the library sell off.
In emailed them and will report my results when I recieve a reply.

Skip, it was a personal email from Gil Boyne located in the forum section of Hypnosisonline.com, and offering a new email address etc in the product section of the board. He stated, that now he is eighty, it is time to dispose of this collection, and I see his point, I disposed of mine to my kids and grandkids, hoping that one of them would follow in my footsteps. So far no go, but it seems that Gil has a very large collection, so it is worth checking what is available to those who wish to increase what they have of books now out of print. Gil also mentions another email address were books may be obtained, but I imagine you already have that ...Terry

Sorry Skip, I thought his name was Gil Boyne, but now find out that it is Mark Gilboyne, I hate to make a mistake in a persons name, it seems sort of insulting, but I don't know the man except by reputation. anyway, I have sent him an email suggesting he contact this board himself so as to make it easier for our people to find out what he has in his collection Terry

Terry,
Thanks for your clarification to Skip. I too went to Gil's site and
couldn't find the info. It's easy to see how these two names
can be confused.
Well it gets better...
I have as yet recieved no reply from my inquiry about the books.
I have however read the following, (reprinted without permission): "The licensure of hypnotists in Indiana began with efforts by Mark Gilboyne, better known as Gil Boyne, the creator and Executive Director of the ACHE until Randall Churchill took over the past two years ago."
Are these folks one and the same?

I imagine they are indeed the same person, since he signs himself as both Mark Gilboyne, and as Gil Boyne. also, he is eighty years old, which suggests he has been active for many years. I have emailed him, and requested that he contact this board himself with some idea of what he has for sale, since it is difficult to fly blind, but on the other hand, I am sure he must have some real treasures available to the collector. Hi,
I've been in contact with Gil Boyne and I'm happy to say that he is well,
continuing to conduct hypnosis trainings and nearing his 80th birthday.
Professionally, he is operating independently.
He is, in fact, going to be selling 80 percent of his 40 year personal collection
of books (which number in the thousands) because of a consolidation of
space. Many titles are out of print and not all titles are related to hypnosis.
You may ask him if he has any specific titles available, by E-Mailing him
at Gilboyne5@aol.com .

Greetings book lovers! I have been surfing and discovered this thread, so here are the facts. My birthname is Mark Thomas Gilboyne, my professional and business name is Gil Boyne. Both are legal in every usage. I moved to London,England, where I taught and practiced from 1996 to 2003. I now reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in a beautiful adobe home (with a lovely guest house ) and four acres of wooded land. I am on top of a mountain (7200 ft.) where the air is clean and the sky is a fantastic shade of blue
filled with stark white cumulous clouds. We have 320 days of sunshine each year and winters are mild.Having lived in big cities all of my life,
this art center of 65,000 residents (1,5000,000 tourists every year) is the perfect place for me to enjoy my latter years. You'all come and visit me.
I was affiliated with Hypnotherapy Academy of America, here in Santa Fe,
but I have resigned my position as Director of Post-Graduate studies and I am teaching and seeing clients as an independent entrepreneur as I have done for the past fifty years. Some of you have labeled me as "old school"
and old man, etc. I will be eighty on Sept.28th and am in excellent health. Everyone says I look about 65, but in the mornings my old bones tell me different. I am selling my collection of books, mainly hardbound. There are about 2500 books, some very rare, Almost all are out of print. There is no list as yet. I am adding a special page on my website to sell these gems.
Email your "wants" and I will try to satisfy you. email is-- gilboyne5@aol.com
my website is gil-boyne.com. Check it out for my Oct. seminar (4days)
in Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy. I guarantee to teach you things that will increase your effectiveness and your income as well.My thanks to Terry for your many kind words. With Respect to All------Gil Boyne

Thank you Gil, for contacting the board, I found your original post on the other one, and thought it proper to pass on the information to my friends on this board, and for the new posters whom I don't know, but who constantly ask about certain books, which are out of print.....
As for the kind words, it's good to meet someone my age who like myself chooses to keep mentally active at what we love. You of course, are active as a practitioner, but I only do the occassional therapy, and for the most part, look for opportunities to do research, which is still my first love. I hope you find this board a place to visit and enjoy, as do I ....Terry
I have never met or studied with Gil. However, for those who are unfamiliar with him, Gil Boyne has been one of the important practitioners and trainers in hypnosis for decades and is one of the reasons our profession is increasing in respect and popularity.
Thank you for visiting us. I hope you will come back from time to time and say hello, as well as post any thought or comments you might have. But more important, thank you for all of the work you have done on behalf of us all.
