Why are you asking about a machine used in medicine for examining the heart, on a board dedicated to hypnosis? I have used such machines, and I can tell you they have nothing whatsoever to do with what we discuss here. Terry

Hi there,

Sorry you appear to have missed the question, there is a induction technique (for hypnosis) called the EKG induction. It is meant to be a rapid induction and 98% effective (or so they say).

I have managed to find a couple of sites that mention it but nothing further.

If I can find the link again I will post so you can see I am correct in the existance of such a named induction techniqe.

Cheers

Hi, Eposman.

I see what happened. In your original subject line, you wrote "E.K.G Induction." However, the actual name is "EKG Induction" (note lack of periods). That's where the misunderstanding came from.

A quick search yields a website with what I would consider an over-the-top, hard-core sales pitch for an induction.

My guess--and since I don't have it but am only going from the advertising--is that it is a fine induction technique for stage hypnosis. But to sell ONE induction technique for $200???

If you are interested in stage hypnosis, I would respectfully suggest that rather than buy one induction technique for that much money, you might consider getting the book, "The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism" by Ormond McGill. You can buy this massive book new for less than half the price, and have all the information you need to do stage hypnosis shows.

I would add just one thing to this: having the information does not equal having the ability or training. If you want to be a stage hypnotist I would also advise:
1) Watch several stage hypnotists perform. What are they doing that's good vs. bad?
2) Take classes in acting and/or staging. Learn how to walk across the stage.
3) Take classes in public speaking

Good luck!

Don,

Thank you for you clearing up that matter, your advise is taken on board and well noted. I am currently training with a qualified Hypnotist / hypnotherapist, and I awaiting course dates so then I will be qualified.

It appears that this induction is indeed for stage use, yet I will not be at this stage for a while - your recommendation for a book will be investigated.

Thank you very much - for your advise and proving I am not making up this induction technique.

Cheers

Ronning has labeled the EKG from - E for Elman, k for
Kein & G for Geoffrey

Thats what I just found out...anyhow, for the price of it you'd have to be nuts. I would recommend checking out any of Richard Nongard and John Cerbones dvds as well as Sean Michael Andrews dvds. Much much cheaper, and you learn way more rapid inductions.

for calling me nuts. It is a rapid induction, not an instant induction. It came with nicely written Guidebook and a DVD or two of Geoff performing it maternally and paternally at different places.

Geoff has also written on page 1: "This induction would not be possible without the work of David Elman, Milton Erickson and Gerald Kein." (The G is for Geoff. It's very flexible and offers continual feedback. Even though it is just an induction, every time it is used is different. It's not a memorized blah blah blah blah type induction and I thought I paid $250 for it with the promise of not teaching it. The induction itself is pretty much the stage show. Strange how that works, huh?

It also has absolutely nothing in common with Sean Michael Andrew's instants....two different colors of horses.

Geoff did his time the difficult way by going from county fair to county fair to county fair and has managed to become a CI and a well respected teacher of stage hypnosis.

Pood ;)

I learned the EKG induction in stage training class from Ronning. I like it!! It's quick, it's theatrical, it works.

Speed Trance inductions beat this all to pieces and are still very theatrical and perhaps more so because no one is ever sent back as not being hypnotized. Only difference is in the EKG the induction is the stage show while with Speed Trance one may include anything one wishes as part of the "show" and the participants never have to leave the safety of their chairs.

The above reflects my opinion only. Pood

I own the book by Geoff. The induction is interesting, but it is very similar to the induction I generally use, and I used the induction before having the book, so nothing really new. Brian David Phillips has a similar approach.
