I am taking my master practitioner training in the UK in November and in the lead up to the event shall be my 'student time'...

My goal is to achieve this certification and be proud of the paper it comes on. Ready to take on the world ? Maybe that's what some say. Others might interpret it a little like the Martial Artist that receives his Black Belt - Then will be the beginning of the new learning?

Anyway on to my plan of attack...
I aim to take two master practitioner trainings with 2 x different trainers. My first training with my original Prac trainer followed then by a widely recognised master trainer. My intentions are to eventually become a recognised figure in the field of NLP. In the process of my progression, drop any things attatched to me that stop me from acheiving my goals. (With this I mean personality/identity issues) not put my children on the streets.

I have looked at New Code NLP and advanced skills with Michael Carroll/Grinder and maybe this will be a taster for my master practitioner development. Anyway, As I hope this thread will point out my intentions as a lead up to eventually become a 'Trainer' in NLP, I would like any opinions/advice in my strategy to help me acheive the best possible results...

Thanks

Hi, Mr. D. Training will be wonderful for you. Congrats on the plan. So, you want to be famous? "A recognized figure." Wealth and status, that's nice. I think it will help you get there if you also have more facets to the goal, like a desire to learn, like a desire to help people. You'll also have to go beyond learning and come up with something creative, innovative, brilliant, new and wonderful.

Mr. D, I like your idea of taking two different trainings. It's not that you'll learn a variety of different things, but rather, you'll get a variety of different approaches to the same things. This may give you deeper insights into the processes.

As a comparison, I took two different trainings in Ericksonian hypnotherapy. One was from a person with an Ericksonian focus, the other was from a person with an NLP focus. Wow, what a difference! The former was very intuitive or "right-brained" while the latter was very logical and "left-brained."

IMO, the ultimate format would be to teach it from both directions. However, since I have not seen any such workshops, getting the different approaches has satisfied my needs.

Thanks for your reply Connie and the reason I believe I will progress in the field is my burning desire to learn and forge the learnings into something meaningful to me such as helping others.

The recognition I desire really is down to the feedback I receive along the way rather than the wealth/fame aspects of it. Recently on a training I was receiving positive feedback and obviously it all helps when your striving to be the best you can be given your current knowledge.

I beleive wealth always follows good eandeavors/intentions and the less you worry about that facet the easier it is to create. My main aim is to take trainings in an appropriate manner and timescale, for me this will take discipline as I am highly motivated and want to know it all now :(

I have ideas for trainings etc. that I believe will give me an edge in my market. However, my main concern is to do the job of becoming what I want to be in the best possible way.

Regards

MrD

Don, I agree completely...

In my pursuit of learning whatever it is there is always someone out there to offer a different angle and method of teaching it.

With a basic platform of knowledge I think you can build up and add character to your training with a better balanced view of what you intend to present.

Plus I model people too much or too in depth! ..... My family keep asking me what dialect i'm speaking sometimes :p

Now there's an idea to hold tight onto !
