Anyone hear of about this eye thing? and if so what is the term for it, because I have not seen anything on it?
it doesn’t seem natural to me so i doubt such a thing would work?
EXERPT
For example, I was taught that the eyes are the windows of the soul, and when you talk to people you should look at a point three inches behind their eyes. I later found out that this technique was actually a hypnotic induction pattern, called eye fixation, which can be used to produce an altered state of consciousness, or "trance," in other people.
This is not eye fixation. It has nothing to do with eye fixation. A simple web search will show you what eye fixation involves. Such an elementary error does not bode well for the accuracy of the author.

3 inches behind the eyes? So, you're peeking into their brain?

it is Richard Bandler and the correct statement is "to induce a slight altered state look directly behind my eyes." It may have been in "Magic in "Action" or "Time For A Change". Pood
I have used the technique of looking at the person's eyes but focusing just behind the person's head. It's very disconcerting and can induce trance (or alter the state enough that induction becomes easy and quick).
But eye fixation is a well-known technique and this technique, sometimes known as the "hypnotic stare," I believe, is not it.

Do you remember one young man in class last summer - American with the most amazing blue eyes I have ever seen in my life. I even commented to him about them. It was just uncanny as it seemed if one looked into those eyes, gone! Definitely unintentional on his part and he seemed quite amazed when I told him. Hopefully he is making good use of them for more than just seeing.

You make a good point.

LOL yeah... I guess if such a thing could have some sort of hypnotic effect I am confused about what and how specifically it would have that effect, because imagining someone looking between my eyes I feel uncertain it would have a effect on me other then maybe think it’s a bit odd how they are looking at me....?? But then again I have heard some people do this unconsciously and supposedly it has some sort of hypnotic effect, so maybe just consciously thinking about it makes it seem odd to me???
