View Full Version : Rat Poison = Cancer Cure?
I'm sure many here a animal lovers and have been saddened, and perhaps even shocked, at the number of animals made ill to the point of death by bad food from a processing plant. It's been in the news. You can read about it here:
http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2976054
The culprit seems to be a rat poison known as aminopterin. That's what all the news media are reporting.
What is also included--but rarely mentioned due to its being perceived as unimportant--is that aminopterin used to be used by licensed doctors as a cancer cure!
This rat poison is so deadly that it cannot even be sold in the U.S. any more. It's too toxic. Yet it was used on children with cancer starting in 1947! It was replaced in the 1950s "due to unpredictable toxicity." In plain language, they didn't know when it would kill the children it was supposed to cure.
For awhile it was even used to induce abortions! But the good doctors stopped using it for this purpose because it caused congenital malformations in future children. Does anyone here remember thalidomide?
What sort of society feeds its children rat poison? What sort of science turns children into guinea pigs for tests of rat poison? What sort of advanced medical system does this?
Even worse, according to this article:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=2975912&page=1,3.000,3,0,3,0
"...trials are under way to test the chemical's effectiveness in the treatment of certain types of cancer."
Will the madness never end?

Warfarin (sp?) is not exactly a poison but it has been used to kill rats and mice by thinning the blood soooo much, they internally hemorrage and die. This same product is used with most cardiac patients to keep the blood thin so the heart does not have to expend as much effort. Of course, the MD's call it something else and it does have to be monitored VERY carefully.
Most HRT for women is pregnant mare's urine. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I would just rather not swallow something like that.

OK, to begin with, Warfarin is expensive and is used in the hospital for emergency use only. The blood thinner of choice in daily use is asprin,(bark of a willow tree,) and when that proves insufficient, a shot of nitro is in order. Now nitro is an explosive which gets the heart pumping quickly, and it works. As for the other stuff, which has been killing animals of late, it is used in China as part of their diet, and is believed to be good for the health. No acounting for taste I suppose, but who are we to tell our Chinese friends what they should take for good health? They have been using herbs for longer than we have been out of loin cloths, so I respect their knowledge, even though I preffer not to use it. As for the horse pee, not my line, but I have been offered maidens water from time to time on the pretext it was beer.:D

There has got to be a big difference at the border. Warfarin (Coumadin) is not just used in hospital settings, it is used for cardiac patients for home use. Mother Dearest has been on it for about four years now. I don't think it is overly expensive here. Only ONCE has her test come out okay. It's either too thick or too thin.
My best friend down the street uses nitro on rare occasions. She claims it gives her a terrific headache. Somehow I got a strange feeling I'm going to be taking her to the ER tomorrow (knee).

say they are no longer using Warfarin but still is fatal if swallowed and may reduce the clotting ability of the blood and cause bleeding. It is toxic to birds, fish and wildlife and can pose a secondary hazard to birds of prey and mammals. To remove the product from home or barn, it has to be taken to Hazardous Waste Disposal. It is Brodifacoum 3-[3-{4'-bromo (1,1'-biphenyl}-4yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-napthalenyl]-4-hydroxy-2H-1benzopyran-2-one ... .0005%
It has been in the past and probably still is true that most of chemotherapy is poison as they want to kill the cancer cells which means that people get very ill, lose all hair, etc. To my knowledge they are unable to just target the cancer cells without causing damage to healthy cells. One of my favorite friends was going through chemo and then decided to quit as it was just NOT WORTH IT so she soon died. Another of my best friends made it through an additional 10 years before it returned and she died. Both were young and very special with sooo much good to give to the world.
Elizabeth Edwards will be on 60 Minutes this evening discussing the return of her cancer to her bones. I've requested to Elizabeth that she should also seek a well qualified hypnotherapist. Whether she does or not is her decision.

I just read about it too. It read as if we only have one in the USA but there is another in other countries. One drug company I do like is AstraZenica, maybe in Sweden. They have a magnificent drug that keeps leukemia under control. If one can afford it, it is very, very expensive but if one cannot, it's free. That makes them pretty nice people IMO.
This company is present in the UK but I have never heard of them supplying any drug for free. This is a pharmaceuticals company and 'free' does not appear in their lexicon, but I would like to be wrong.
Jack
Jack, here in the U.S., the government has outlawed the largest insurance agency from consulting with drug companies to get lower prices. It has also outlawed individual importation of drugs from Canada where the prices are significantly lower. As a result, the prices for drugs are significantly--massively--higher in the U.S. than in any other industrialized country.
At the same time, the amount of news and information has vastly increased with chatter and useless information, preventing people from getting the information they need. As a result, in order to look good, several drug companies have programs where, if you can prove poverty, they will sell you the drug and greatly reduced prices or even give it for free.
However, this is much like the companies who have "rebate" coupons. They give them away, knowing most people will never use them. Similarly, most people eligible for reduced price drugs or free drugs don't know about it or get confused over the hoops you have to jump through to get this "benefit." Some drug companies will give the discount only if you don't get discounts with other drug companies. Users have to figure out who makes the drugs and which ones would cost the most so they can get the discount. If people need drugs from several companies, and they don't have insurance, getting the discount may not be much help and some people will only get one prescription per month rather than all of them.
Welcome to the wonderful American health system.

When and if I do buy drugs, they are imported from Canada. There is a way of doing it that is totally legit and the US Govt. can't do anything about it. There is one I use that has a generic in Canada and soooooo much cheaper than here. It's sad when drug companies have such a large lobby as to make the rules in the USA.
