Not everyone responds to every technique. But I have observed that a majority of people respond to rapid or confusion inductions. Also, the way each person responds to a suggestion is different for each individual.

Yes indeed! The best technique is to learn hypnosis concepts so you can create a unique induction technique for each client depending upon what they need. This is determined during the pre-induction interview.

If you are unfamiliar with this concepts, I would suggest that you take a course in hypnosis leading to certification.

i think you will find that the simple answer is that, the technique I use is the best... now you dont need to understand what i mean by ..technique ... its the I that is important...because why on earth would I use a second best technique ? and although i dont know for sure that my techneque is diffrent from Merlins i bet it is...because we all have our own...even if we use the same inductions we all delliver them diffrently...to make it simpler...I used to play football and i used a ball...nowadays david beckam plays football and he also uses a ball.. trust me we both used the ball diffrently.... the best technique is the one that you currently use..its as clear as mud....doug

Doug,

>because why on earth would I use a second best technique ?

because you lack experience in other techniques.
You may find (over the next few decades of your practice) that there are better methods than you currently use (assuming you are open to learning something new).

merlin, i learn something new every day... i am a wee bit surprised that you would presume i use only one technique... my point was that the technique i am using on that particular client at that particular moment, is at that moment, my favourite...not that i always use the same technique...although i do favour a basic few ... the pre-session chat decides the technique ..but perhaps the origonal poster dosent have your range to choose from ...hence the question...and hence my answer...what prompted your barb at me?doug:confused:

(hijacks thread)

I know that it's requires to know a good bit about the person before you pick the best technique for them. I'm interested in knowing some of the base qualities you look at to pick the induction type. I mean what is the ideal candite for say confusion technique. Could you give me the most basic qualities you look for when deciding which technique to use. I don't need a respnce the size of a book here (not saying I would have anything against that) just a good post with as detailed explantion as your willing to give.

Thanks

It is important to know what elemental type they are, Wood, Water, Metal, or Fire.

Than you can choose the proper technique.

It is important to know what elemental type they are, Wood, Water, Metal, or Fire.

Than you can choose the proper technique.
"Wood", lies there expecting to have it done to and for them, but unable or unwilling to do anything for themselves....Action,, Slow method to impress, then demand type suggestions so that there is no doubt in the mind of the client that they will be forced to obey by an unseen but ever present power.....Hate giving such an impression, but don't feel so bad when it is this type of client......Not my favourite.....

"Metal", regular type open to suggestion and willing to be impressed, they are easy to work with, and the use of a confusion technique is valid unless you feel that you want them to practise between sessions, in which case the slow induction is important, since they can absord the path as you work with them... Treat them well, they will bring you more clients if you are successful with them...i preffer to use confusion only AFTER the first session........./

"Fire", no need for a regular induction here, no relaxation will do, so talk them into the trance a la Merlins technique, and if you don't know it you don't have the experience needed to work adequately with this client.....To understand this method, no mention is made of sleep, relaxation, etc, they are in the trance before they know you have started the induction, and I confess I find this type delightfull, they are full of energy, and almost always successful in getting what they want if they have an adequate practitioner working with them.......Point them in the right direction and stand back, they will get were they want to go without much direction. All they really lack is belief in themselves......

Now in fairness, I have guessed what Skip meant by his refferences to wood, metal, and fire, but I think I did get the gist of his intent, and even if I don't have the order right, the three types are there for your consideration,if perhaps Terry style.........
