Hi,
Did someone work with hypnosis on patient in coma or vegetative state or locked-in syndrom, in order to try to make them move or to establish a communication canal ? Do you know studies about those situations ?
Thanx in advance ... from France ! :)

Milton Erickson, M.D., reportedly did this with at least one patient.

I have worked with such people.
Their mind is all there.
The usual problem is a lack of ability to communicate back.
So, it is assumed the mind is not there.

Coma yes, studies no. Unless you are reffering to the coma produced via anasthetics, in which case , yes such have been done.
Unless scans reveal that brain material is missing then those in coma may hear everything you say, but as Merlin says two way communication is not easy, although I have had some ideomotor responses in the past, but nothing that would indicate ongoing communication. It is as though the conscious has closed down and the subconscious is only listening on a temporary and spasmodic basis.
I know of no studies in which this has been demonstrated, but you might try an experimental medicine or psychology site.
