Wooo, first post for me - be nice :)

More seriously, I've just got interested in (self-)hypnosis. Having seen a post a few days ago about Ross Jeffries SS material (which I haven't seen), I was wondering what the forum's view is on David Shade's Manual?

I like some of his factual stuff, but I don't agree with his attitude to women at all points - it seems damaging to a good relantionship to me. Thus with one plus and one minus, I'm left unsure how much faith I should put in his hypnosis descriptions.

What's other people's view?

thnx

Don't know of either gentlemen, so I make no personal comments. On the other hand, I should tell you I know many persons who are fine doctors, but lousy hypnotists, so making comparisons about attitudes as against knowledge and ability, seems to me like comparing apples and oranges. Yes they both are fruits I agree, but the differences seem greater than a comparison allows.
On the other hand, if you have observed a poor attitude to fifty percent of the population, it is difficult to believe that it won't show up in practise, and affect the results, so perhaps you should give that gentleman a pass based on lack of raport. Terry
PS. Since these posts are read by members in the UK, perhaps I had better make it quite clear, that my refference to "fruits" was aimed at the apples and oranges, and not the two gentlemen being discussed. Amazing what you see when you reread a post (EG) T
