They have such things such as hypnotic marketing, but i notice that reading has the same characteristic of an audio trance
#1 - It relaxes you
#2 - It requires very little conscious effort, you just kind of look and the words start to become your thoughts
#3 - We tend to remember things we read very easily, Meaning that it is being rooted deep in the subconcsious
So if you go into a trance like state when you read, then this means we dont actually need to close our eyes to experience trance, So we could do hypnosis why we were reading a book and be tranced out from the actual reading why the audio goes about its business and talks to the subconscious?
Anyones thoughts on this?
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, Nick.
You don't go into a "trance like state" when you read. However, if you get involved in something you're reading you certainly go into a trance.
Trances happen all the time, including with the eyes open.
So what do you want to know?

I have tried this while doing a meditative excercise in a Sylvia Brown book. I found myself stopping to close my eyes anyway and not reading.

reading = trance
...yes! >>>> check out this forum.... Anything you ever read here governed your life? I got to check myself before someone convince me I'm defunct or sick... I read the words on the screen, I hear them in my head. If they have emotional impact, they resonate... how I think determines my world. Lucky I got crisis resolution software installed (in me heed)... Everything you read changes you, straight fact (and how much more when it meets with your persona?).

Nick, if you make a statement which is not true, there is no value in asking why facts belie the statement. You say we must close our eyes to enter the state we call hypnosis, but this is not so. I suppose you will state if asked that you must be lying down, or sitting at least, in order to be hypnotised. This also is not true. What you are stating, is what you have perhaps seen, and presumed to be fact, but although certain things are done to make it easier to enter into hypnosis, non of it is essential. I can hypnotise you as we stand in the street talking, and neither you or anyone observing will know what I have done. This by the way is not the same as the trance you enter into when reading an interesting book, so again you are making false statements, and expecting us to prove them, which of course we can't do..

Sure.. think about music and smell.. have you ever been reading a book and had your favorite album playing.. I remember passages of a book I read over 25 years ago everytime i hear this certian album.
Smells are a lot like that as well. There is a shampoo iI only used in Norway while I was visiting some people. On the occassion that I have used that since then, I am transported back to that shower.
I use to read novels that were on my must want to read list and have an audio I made of a class I was studying for, playing in the background. I always aced my tests when I did that.
Do what you believe is possible and make it so...:)

Hypnosis and trance are not the same thing.
Anyway, I like eyes open.
