A hacker deleted an entire website a few weeks ago (occultforums.com) who goes by the name fatcat. The loss was incredible. Please learn from their mistake and a) back up your site regularly and b) keep your security beefy.
Just giving the heads up.

Well, getting hacked is the chance we all take from time to time, since it is hard to keep up with the new viruses before they strike.
On the other hand, I am surprised that the first one stuck should be an occult web site. Were they not able to predict this in advance, and take such action as to prevent or limit the damage? Terry
The reason fatcat hasnt given anyone else a problem is that the occult site members vivited a plague upon him!

Fatcat has claimed responsibility for other attacks previous to the occult site as well. I don't think he used a virus; someone more computer savvy than I said he hacked into the site using a "script" or something - then he deleted all the forums and user info. They did everything they could to limit the damage, but there was a problem with the backup files so almost all of years worth of work was lost.
It's pretty doubtful that he'd show up here, but you never know... Hopefully, your administrators are more on top of things here.
