Hi,

I was wondering if hypnosis could improve my Go play. Go is an ancient strategy game that seems to depend on our intution and pattern recognition facilities more than logic. The best computer programs aren't very good at it, and I'm only a little better than them!

So, do you peoples think I hypnosis could help me improve my play somehow, or would I be better off to just hire a Go teacher?

Hypnosis can be used to improve any human performance area.

More specifically for go.

Memory
Creativity
Flexability
Analytical ability

plus:

It can be used to motivate you to practice and develop skill sets that are appropriate for go.

cheers,

Hi Skip,

I've been trained in self-hypnosis to overcome some serious personal problems a while ago. Should I find a hypnotist for specifically augmenting my Go study and play, or are there exercises that I can work off of somewhere without seeing a hypnotist? Why or why not?

If I do end up seeing a hypnotist, how many sessions ought I need?

Wowa!

I dont have a clue what you might need/want.

I offered suggestions about some areas that hypnosis could help, in response to your question, but it is not necessarily limited to just those.

I further suggest that you contact a hypnotist in your area and discuss this with them.

In that way they can assess what you might need, and what if anything they respectively might be able to do to help you.

cheers,
