You know how on the movie Shallow Hal, they make a guy think an overweight girl is a lot more beautiful? Couldn't they do this with hypnosis? Make someone who has a good personality look better in the eyes of the boy/girl friend?

Could be done with alcohol, should work with hypnosis as well *S* (and without the sideeffects the next morning).

But seriously what makes you think an overweight girl is not beautiful to someone?

What if there was a way to overcome those social beliefs?

I was just using that as an example. Also, as another example... Could you make someone look like brad pitt or lucy lawless or something? Like whenever you see so and so, you believe they look like lucy lawless?

Sounds like a fun idea for a stage hypnosis show...but why would you want to do this in real life? I mean, wouldn't Lucy Lawless sue or something?

This is an interesting point iv thought about before, and as Don says should only really be used in a stage show or something, as for real life wouldnt it be a form of sexual assault or something if something actually happened like sex, if you "suggest" to someone that you or someone else looks "really appealing" in there eyes it would be seen as a criminal act.

I think Smooth opens up a very thoughtful problem.

Assume, for a second, that you could hypnotize a guy and give suggestions that he would think a woman whom he would normally find unattractive was amazingly beautiful and desirable. And then, because of that, he has sex with her, she gets pregnant and has his child. She sues him for child support. He, in turn, sues you for creating the situation as he would not have had sex with her if not for you.

Smooth, I don't know if it would be a "criminal act" (where you could go to jail--but maybe somebody would know more about this), but it could certainly be seen as a case for a civil lawsuit.

However, that would all depend upon the ability to hypnotize and make suggestions to the level of a fantasy film. Of course, that's just a fantasy film.

on this subject, does anyone know if you can make someone "act" drunk from hypnosis? like for a stage show?

Yes.
My favourite is to have people see me with green eyes :)

does anyone know or have a link to a script that can do that?

A 'script' is not what you need.
You need to learn hypnosis.

i'm an australian law student, although i'm not familiar with the laws outside australian jurisdiction, i do know that in Queensland you could very easily be found guilty of criminal rape. The relevant precedents (which i cannot cite, i apologise) go along the general line that any person that impersonates another person in order to obtain consent to a sexual act is committing rape as consent is not full and proper as it is not informed. The cases i have heard of in relation to this are one where a man got into a woman's bed and pretended to be her husband and one where a man told a woman that he was a famous footballer. I see a parallel here. By suggesting to another person through hypnosis that they find you attractive you could concievably be "impersonating" a more attractive person if you catch my drift. Something to think about...
