i havent reallyh tried this before but tried it on a freind and myself recently, problem is they have to look diagonaly up with their eyes very hard for it to work and it is uncomfortable for the client therfore it appears they dont do it properly and therfore can still open their eyelids when you tell them they cant.
Am i doing somthign wrong?

Mikey,
You clearly are doing something wrong.
You say you've tried it on yourself? try this: close your eyelids and pretend that they are glued together. You will find that as long as you are focusing on this pretense you will be unable to open them. It is only when you decide that you can open them that you will be able to.

This is how hypnosis works. your friend has to be so convinced of the idea that no other possibiity exists. For this to happen he has to believe in you. You may have to build up some expectation. Most importantly though, you have to have absolutely no doubt in your mind that his eyelids will be stuck together! Dont try this on anyone...just do it.

must be doign a different eye test to you by the sounds of it, it has nothing to do with their belief, its not hypnosis just a so called test to make them believe it is hypnosis therefore inducing the belief effect so you can use your actual hypnosis.
the eyes locked together test im talking about is mechanical, if they do it correctly it is impossible to open your eyes for mechanical reasons not mind over matter.
thanx for the reply tho,

Try reading Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman, learn the Elman induction, learn to choose your words carefully. It does work and works so well that the client cannot open the eyes no matter how hard they try. If it were a case of an emergency, of course, the eyes would open. Another good book is HYPNOSIS A Comprehensive Guide by Tad James. Dr. James outlines it very, very easily plus adds in Erickson and Estabrooks. One I particularly enjoy is Monsters and Magical Sticks - there's no such thing as hypnosis. There is, however, no substitute for good live training. I do mine a little differently as I have my clients in trance before establishing eye cat. It's known on the Forum as Poodle's - Jacks's Aardvark & Cabbage Induction. Please know that not all inductions work on everyone so you need to understand your client's needs. One induction does not a hypnotist make!

At your stage in the game you will probably be very disappointed in the Elman CD's and you could learn a bad habit or two. Ahh yes, the money spent on books and CD's but they are necessary tools. Eventually your tastes will probably shift to Rossi when given enough information and training. You see when one has a PASSION, one reads a great deal about that passion to make it grow every day, just like watering a plant so that the roses will bloom. You'll get there some day. Just be patient with yourself.
