Hi guys, I have some questions I was hoping someone could help me with...
How do you go about putting someone into trance?
I hope that those who respond have experience in that matter, also that they have the skill of putting people in trance at will because I'm simply asking for one thing, that which works because that is the skill I lack. Essentially only the how to:s! Because I need to know what makes the induction work, but more importantly, what things makes the change work.
Also once they are in trance, say they lack confidence or have anxiety of a lighter sort, how do you go about changing their unwanted behavior?
I think these may be hard questions, which is the reason I need help.
Thanks in advance... :)
Simon

The truth is that even if we gave you specific techniques of inducing a trance and specific scripts for boosting self confidence this just isn't the way of learning hypnosis.
Its the wrong way, no matter what you think, and its the way which has the lowest success rate.
What you don't understand is, that trance induction is a tool that hypnotist may use for bringing his patient to a receptive state for therapy. And nor the tool nor the therapy can be learned how to use from a forum.
Do you think you could give someone Freudian psychoanalysis just after reading few quick suggestions? No, you couldn't, but it could look like analisis though.

Your post says it all. "I think I know more that I really do, so tell me the rest". You then proceed to ask us to teach you all you need to know to become a practitioner, and do it over the web. This shows both ignorance of hypnosis, and an attitude of entitlement which you don;t have the right to even if it were possible.
What you are asking for would require hundreds of pages in response to give you thorough training. We don't have space for that here. Sorry.
Go to the library and get several books on hypnosis.
While that will give you theory, being able to put someone into a hypnotic trance and then knowing how to help them achieve desired changes in their behavior is a skill, like riding a bicycle. I know of nobody who read a book on how to ride a bicycle and then was ready to enter a BMX race. Before you can enter such a race you need to practice and maybe even have people give you some idea--that is, get personal instruction.
So although you may be able to succeed from reading the books alone, you might also look into getting training.

It seems that I have a big misconception about this whole deal, even though I think I know pretty much in theory. So I'll keep on reading. Thank you Simon for your thoughts and the redirection to the thread where many books were presented.
Terry, lol, your "I think I know more that I really do, so tell me the rest"-line was a confessional one; I went slightly into a "light trance". But I think I understand it better now. Thanks!
Anyways I didn’t mean to upset anyone with my thread if I did that, I think I pretty much know allot in theory, it is no doubt that it’s a complex process, but as you all are saying, it's not in the books or the web.
"I know of nobody who read a book on how to ride a bicycle and then was ready to enter a BMX race", hahaha, you got a good point there Don. I completely understand it. Thanks.

I made a typing error in my previous post, it's supposed to be a confusional line not confessional line... :D
Simple, keep up your interest and drive, study some more books, and maybe get some training. You'll be able to hypnotize others and help them change sooner than you think!

I made a typing error in my previous post, it's supposed to be a confusional line not confessional line... :D Well, if it succeeded in making you stop and think, and then succeeded in helping you understand instead to feeling insulted, it did what it was intended to do, and I am glad. It shows that you do understand English, and you do read properly with concentation, instead of "jumping to conclusions," something that is often the only excercise some people get.

Thanks to all three of you, you really did help me!
It is really good that these kinds of forums exist because they put the discussion in the center and making distance between the individuals discussing their interests, thought and ideas, non relevant.
