Hey All!

Just came off a weekend of NLP a couple weeks ago and am still enjoying the effects thus far:D . I was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of childhood trauma and spent 4 years in different therapies. This technique really worked for me. I didn't want to spend time rehashing and reviewing my trauma...didn't want to talk about it...but certainly needed to release the emotions attached to the events. NLP was useful in releasing these feelings without having to be specific!!! I am still revisiting other areas and trying the techniques there! They really do work. Mind you....it only works if the individual is willing to heal at that time in their life. Perception is projections, right?!

Thanks, Dr. James, for a wonderfully enlightening weekend. One of the "side effects" of the weekend is that I find myself becoming extremely "for the moment" and I seem to be more assertive for what I need or want. I teach high school students...before the weekend, I was a little less direct with my discipline...now I am very direct and I am getting good results. My students don't like it as much...but hey!!!! That's life. Also...My husband promises to leave the toilet seat down from now on;) !

Thanks once again!

All the best,

Pembroke Gal

Just wait until you learn more! You think that was excellent -- there's a whole lot more waiting for you. I really wonder if anyone will ever find the end of NLP? ;) Pood, the old dawg

Thats really great!

May I ask what techniques worked for you?

That could be construed as asking what were your personal problems and what NLP techniques helped you with them specifically. I really don't think Pemgroke has any reason to answer. It is just enough to know that it worked and worked well and that she is happy. Another win for NLP!

Hey There!

No need to apologize or clarify! I will explain what part of NLP worked best for me.....

Many times in the case of trauma...only feelings, visuals, and senses exist with the experience...words get lost in the mix. NLP helped me in that I could still keep my distance away from the experience without getting to close to the emotions. That allowed for me to re-evaluate my emotions and subsequently let them go. I still revisit the technique and I also find HUNA to be a great energy rebuilder...and I find I have to revisit less and less as days go by. Our minds are quite powerful. If we feel that we need to hang on to emotions and visuals, our mind will hang on...when we are ready to release them...our minds are also the only tool needed to accomplish release. If people could only realize how much they can control their existance through the mind!!! Wow...we would all be much happier. I teach high school and am constantly pumping up my students on the notion that their envirnoment or circumstances do not have to determine what path we take...it certainly is a tough sell most days!!

Thanks for all your kind comments!!!!

Peace,

Pembroke Gal

Thank you for sharing. Those of us that do did not need the particulars. Hopefully someone will come upon your post and it will make a difference in their life too when they try it for themselves. It's a wonderful modality. Just think for a second -- how many years have you been giving your mind and body negative programming. Now look toward the future of your life with the subconscious in it's correct mode of operation. Amazing! It just gets better and better and better.
