i was raised around native speakers, but, me, in my adulthood, cannot recall that specific native language. i'm wondering if 1) is there really life regression hypnosis, and 2) would hypnosis help me recall?
the native language i want to recall is so diff. from the english language that i use, that i'm afraid i will learn it all backwards, since, english - compared to this native language, is backwards.
the native language i want to recall and/or relearn is in danger of disappearing, that's why there are many of us looking for an easier way to grasp it.
if anyone can help me there will be a place for u to work to help us.
SusAN,
Yes hypnosis regression is real, and can help.
BUT
In your specific situation the help may not be as wonderful as it might at first seem.
When you use age regression, you 'actually' regress, and your 'understanding' of events is consistant with the age you have regressed to, in order to recall.
Sooooo
That means if you regress to three years old, to recall the language, your understanding of the language will also be as that of a three year old.
You concievably could remember lots of words that you as a three year old simply didnt understand. Or misunderstood.
Now a good hypnotist can work around this somewhat bringing your adult conscious understandings into play, but if the three year old didnt know the meaning, your adult self likely wont either.
So for some words, phrases, etc; there may be adisconnect between what you can recall, and what will ultimately make sense to you now.
The older you were, while around native speakers, obviously the better off you will be in this endeavor.
I would say it is worth a try, you have very little to lose, and much to possibly gain.
Out of curiousity, what is the native language you are interested in?

is that of a Native American, most universities have used Elders to get the language so it will not be lost and it may be being taught at some place you never dreamed it would be taught.
We are having a problem here with the Arapaho language. Young people 'sorta' know it but have no one with whom to speak it. There is only a handful of Elders that know and speak it well and we certainly do not want to lose it as the Arapaho were the first of the later tribes to live here.
Before you mean "lost", make sure of all of your resources. If that doesn't work, then what Skip wrote is what you should do as he gave you the true facts.
Wishing you the very best~Pood

A thought: record any visuals of writing you see and the language spoken around you and by you during the regression hypnosis, and record phonetically the sound patterns and syntax of the words, even if not understood. Later, when you find those persons still knowledgable in the old language, they can work with it, translate and refine. It may not enhance their understanding of the language, but you'll have memory and record and understanding of your own experiences with your native language. And that's wonderful.
PS: SusAN. I think it's a wonderful project. Go for it!

could very well be in regression would OP even know the English language? Were the languages learned simultaneously and if not, the hypnotist if not experienced sufficiently could find one huge can of worms.
Just an opinion. You don't have to adopt it.
