So what is everyones view on who is the best hypnotherapist in the world. I know Milton Ericsson used to be and may well be the best that will ever live but who do you think is the best at this point in time?

It may be someone you've never heard of. The best hypnotherapist may not be the best known hypnotherapist--that's a function of marketing. Milton Erickson may not have been the best of his time, either. One of the reasons we know about him is because he was the subject of intense scrutiny by this guy, Richard Bandler, and others, who wrote books about his work.

Hi jimbobday and welcome on forum.
You know, I love sport and I had long conversations with my friends about who is best player in ice hockey. And you know in hockey you can see how many goals, assistants and points does each player had through his carrier.
Problem his that just by comparing points of players is too simplified. Different players played in different times, with different rules, different teammates, different opponents etc
In Hypnosis there are no points(even it would be fun to have hypnopoints or something :) ). Hypnosis and trance is subjective experience, so what would it mean to be best?
As Connie pointed out, we can tell who is most famous maybe, or maybe even most influential. My guess is that at best we can list few people and not agree who is number one.
This is something I and my friends did, we agreed that there are few exceptional players and is hard to tell who is number one.
Take care.

Merl has an imagination that's far superior and on the otherhand I would have to say all of us on the Forum Team, present and past because I sure want to include Terry and Jack too. This obviously includes our Moderators, Don and Skip. Jack taught me how to induce with poetry  and Terry passed down his lifetime work. :hyp:
We are awesome and people had better look twice when we put our collective heads together.
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to all~Pood :pood:
