Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone has or knows where I can find a self-hypnosis version of the Elmen technique? The actual Elmen technique, for those of you who don't know, requires a patient and a hypnotist. Well, I need to be my own patient and I need the Elmen technique. Thank You.

Elman explains in his book 'Hypnotherapy'.

To buy the book Hypnotherapy, please note the name is Elman, not Elmen.

Is there another technique out there that I could get for free that allows the patient (me in this case) to hallucinate outside of the hynotic state?

Is there another technique out there that I could get for free that allows the patient (me in this case) to hallucinate outside of the hynotic state? Drugs work fine, and I understand that they are sometimes free....

Yeah, and NLP can get some good trancey stuff going too.

Well... all of this trancy stuff is good but I need a good induction that will get me so far "deep" into hypnosis that I am able to hallucinate... as the Elman technique does... but if anyone knows of another technique possibly more adaptable to self-hypnosis that would be very helpful.

Would possibly just recording several deepening techniques create the deep hynotic effect that I am needing?

Would possibly just recording several deepening techniques create the deep hynotic effect that I am needing? Ah yes, we understand, like most people, you want to run before you can walk, and I am the last one to tell you it can't be done. What I will tell you is that it depends on your intelligence, and we know nothing of that.
How do you know that you arent deep enough to be hallucinating that you are not?

Simple.... I do not hallucinate the things that I suggest to myself I do. I record myself suggestions using diffrent scripts that I have found online and ones that I have written myself. I than achieve a state of self-hypnosis and I sort of well... you guys know.... you're hypnotists... I think I am seeing it... I'm sure you guys understand. But than when I think back on it when I am out of a hypnotic state I really did not see it. I want to achieve visual things. Not just think I'm seeing them.

You know,
The best thing you could do for yourself is to get a bit of help.
See a good hypnotist who can help you with hallucinations as you want. Then 'anchor' the state so that you can return to that state quickly and easily.
In most situations this only takes one visit.
It's a jungle out there. It's worthwhile to get a guide.

Congratulations on persistance, but what you want and what you get are not of nescessity the same. I am betting without asking, that you will tell us you can't afford training, right? Well, I would like very much to be a surgeon, but I too can't afford to go to University for seven years, and then do the aprenticing part. Now fact is, I can't afford the time not the money, and fact is this is just a want not a need. If it were a need, I would find the time and the money and hope to live long enough to enjoy doing something new. If you can't afford the time or the money to take training, I suggest it is just a want, and you will never get it....

There are various illegal drugs that work very well for this. We had them in the late '60's to early '70 -- called LSD -- a lot of people didn't survive tho. Then there's the age old American Indian peyote but one usually needs a "Medicine Man" around after to interpret your hallucinations. Do you suppose you just might be better off with a skilled hypnotist. I promise you will live and have that which you so desire. Shuckey Darn! It's legal too!
Believe me, reading Dave Elman and hearing Dave Elman teach are two very different stories.
