Yes mine wears out often, in fact I bought on new one last week. Only way I know to stop this is to use my own voice and to hell with client expectations, or what I believe to be client expectations.

If your voice wears out it is probably because you are not using it properly. Take a couple of lessons from a vocal coach or speech pathologist and you should be fine.

LOL Honda! Does an opera singers voice wear out with singing several arias?
No. It gets stronger. If yours is becoming weaker I suggest you ask your subconscious why it wants you to have a worn out voice.

You sound like I did right after I started teaching school - talking all day. Voice got pretty tired but it eventually got used to working all the time. I like to put the pre-induction on CD so I don't have to say it EVERY TIME for a new client and at the end I just say "Any questions". That in itself saves a lot of wear and tear on my voice. If in session, you use your voice very softly it will not wear "out". :) We are not at a major sports game yelling.

LOL!!!

Complaint: My voice wears out after 15 clients in a row.

Response: You say that as if it is a bad thing.

What are we looking at here?

Is it a backhand complaint that this guy has too many clients?

Thanks poodle, can you give me any direction on where I can check up that CD?

The funny thing is I DO use my voice quite softly....I have a soft voice naturally...so it's kind of strange that it STILL wears out.

Lol, you're right! If they're all my own clients I'd be ecstastic, but not really...! I mean, i love working with more clients..haha of course. But I would like to figure out how to save my voice at the same time.

Not strange at all! It's not how loud you are, it's how you generate tone. Some singers can belt out huge songs for hours and have no problems, while others with quite voices can easily strain them.

As I wrote above, a workshop on singing or with a voice specialist will help you immensely.
