Hi everyone,

I posted here a couple of months ago but have had trouble posting, but anyway..

I would really like a recommended hypnotist to visit in the UK - I have looked at a few websites for local hypnotists - I live in Darlington, north east England - so anyone in North England would be ideal, but I would travel anywhere in the country to meet the right person...

I haven't really been impressed with what I have read on peoples websites in my area, and only 1 even got back to me and said he wasn't currently practicing, but recommended me to someone else... but on her website she talks a lot about past life regression... I don't know a lot about this but I believe it to be mostly the imagination? Should I be put off by this?

I also read a lot about "relax-nosis" rather than real trance inducing hypnosis on this forum, and I generally havent got a clue how to tell who is decent or not. I haven't got tons of money to try several and see...

I am however more serious than ever to find a good hypnotist and try this - I made my first post about my problems and wishes for hypnosis - you can see this here:
http://hypnosisforum.com/showthread.php?t=24061

I am still in the same situation, to cut a long story short my heart is higher than normal, and also not stable - i.e. it goes higher then lower, but keeps a regular beat, and also after any even mild activity such as walking for 45 minutes it stays high for a few hours afterwards. I am not happy with my cardiologist so I am looking for a new doctor, but I also am reading this book: "Healing from the Heart: A Leading Surgeon Combines Eastern and Western Traditions to Create the Medicine of the Future, by Mehmet Öz" In it he recommends hypnosis and other complementary therapies and claims good results so I am determined to try it and see if it works for me... but also in looking for one all the websites I read just cover topics such as "stop smoking" "weight loss" and "phobias", I can't find any information on actual hypnotists in my area with any experience of anything like this...

Any advice you can give me would be greately appreciated.

p.s. im my previous post i talked of trying a "clock technique" where you imagine synchronising your heart with a ticking clock - this seems to help a little and after doing it a few times when it is high it seems to calm my heart a little, but the result doesn't last... so far.... also sometimes my heartbeat is very regular and normal pace - 70-75 beats per minute, so I am inspired that I can have a normal heart rate and rhythm... I just want to find some way of keeping it like that consistently...

This post is getting too long now, thank you all for reading!
Kind Regards,
Dan

Hi again Dan -- I'm still unsure of what you want changed. Are you writing about hypertension & hypotension OR are you writing strictly about the number of beats per minute that your heart makes?

Since you are in England, we have a Forum leader there that is excellent. He is "trying" to cut back to retire but it seems as if he just cannot. You could send a PM and ask if he would be willing to work with you. His name here is Jack. Are you and your past cardiologist 100% sure this needs to be changed?

Merlin is also in England and resides at Camelot. You could send a PM and ask. I don't know if she is taking private clients now or not.

Michael Perez is in London and is quite amazing but I don't know if he does clinical hypnosis work. Andy Austin lives in one of the Sussexes and is a person that likes to study and do new things -- either hypnosis or NLP. I've heard he is a bit "strange" but that should not take away from his abilities and he often does certain things to learn about them so others can follow what he has done.

Before I entered into our world, I would want to make sure I had a darn good cardiologist just to be self-assured that previous work is correct and you do not need any more interventions from Western medicine and what you are seeking would be in your best interests.

I hope you realize that the number of beats/minute has to do with many, many different type of things. Athletes have much higher than non-athletes, stress can raise the number, activity can raise the number, being restful and peaceful can lower the number. Weight and diet also play roles here. I'm really sure I personally would feel uncomfortable giving the client control over the number of beats/minute as they need to change sooo often depending on what the mind-body is doing. It would be silly IMO to believe your resting heart rate should be in the higher 70's after you had a long walk. I'm also wondering about Dr. Oz and hypnosis. I like to watch his show and I have NEVER seen hypnosis recommended by him for the easy things we do such as smoking cessation or weight loss. He always pulls out a psychologist.

The above is strictly my personal opinions and has nothing to do with APU or Dr. Matt in any way.

Be well~Pood :)
