i really want to be able to do hypnosis but i dont know where i can learn it from  does any1 know because i really want to learn it :)
please reply
In my opinion, the best way to really learn how to do it is to take one of the weekend classes that are offered all over. This will give you the basics.
However, expanding on the basics and learning what you can do after a person is hypnotized will take a bit longer. :-)

There are many good books as well as trainings. A weekend course, or taped training are a good starting point.

OK, I have recently read The Practice of Hypnotism Second Edition by: Andre M. Weitzenhoffer(forgive me for my spelling mistakes). And let me say that it was an exellent book. Two days ago I tried to hypnotize someone, I say tried because I didn't succeed. At first I thought that I should try another induction so I did, but to no avail. I am wondering what I did wrong here. The techniques I used were the Eye Fixation Sleep Suggestion Induction and the Progressive relaxation method. Can anyone help me? Should I find another subject or is it my own fault

Why do you think it didnt work, when you are hypnotized you just feel relaxed, you dont feel anything strange. The subject must trust you for hypnosis to work!! I think that is why when I tried to hypnotize spunge it didnt work!!
Hes to paranoid.

So you used an induction technique.... was it goood enough I like to create a special place in the subjects mind and let them bask in its peace for a couple of minutes. It helps to slow things down. Try it on someone else, maybe there analitical filter was just not shutting down?

Damien, you think you are screwing up eh? Well, if your parents gave you an art set, paints, canvas etc, all of high quality, and requiring only the hand of the expert to produce a wonderfull painting, do you think you could do those items justice the first time you used them?
Would you expect to just practise alone without any guidance, and eventually come up with an acceptable painting? Yes, likely you would eventually, but it is my guess that you would quit long before you succeeded.....
This post is not just for you, but for all who post on this board with false expectations of being able to use hypnosis easily. Ask the experts here what they charge for a one hour session, and decide how much they would be worth if it were that easy?????
No hypnosis is not easy, but is worth every penny and every hour you spend on it. It replaces so many other proceedures and does so without the dangers involved in some of them. Now save your money, and spend it on a course by someone who knows what they are doing, and then go paint on that canvas. Terry

What I learnt today while hypnotizing a freind, has helped me more. I tried to gain an understanding of there representational style ie. visual, kinetic...ect. I found this out and while estabblishing rapport and used this information to help my choosing of nominalizations, for the hypnotist.
And it was the most successfull one yet. Wooooooooo:D

Hi Damien,
> I need help
if I may, a couple pointers in the right direction :
1. Has this person *volunteered* ? for hypnosis (or is this something you want to impose upon her/him).
2. Also, has this person chosen a *motivational compelling Purpose* for hypnosis ?, like something New he/she wants to learn ... AND do you know how to guide her/his process once they are hypnotized ?
3. You know the mind is capable of learning, at lightening-fast speed :) :
especially when it is *Invited enjoying fun* ...
so,
simply "stop boring" him. (also harmful methods like deception, ridicule & force resulting in fear will back-fire, so don't go there.)
