hi, i'm going to work with a client regarding family issues. she wants to become "less affected" by her sister as her sister causes a lot of "anger" and "stress" around the family. years of emotional abuse she feels from her sister, what technique should i use with this? any advice?

I had a similar client and found it quicker and easier using NLP rather than hypnotherapy.
I actually used the swish pattern on him and changed the way he felt about the family member. In other words instead of getting wound up by them they changed their state of mind to find it funny, which ended up winding up the relative. :)

Time Line Therapy (tm) would probably work also

In my opinion, there's not enough information to say. You have to do a pre-induction interview. What she says so far is the "presenting problem." It may not be the underlying problem. What has worked for others may be totally inappropriate for her.
YMMV
