I was curious who the most respected hypnotists were. I have a project I'm working on and I would like to talk to him (it needs to be a man). Who is the most respected and knowledgeable in the field?

Why does it "need to be a man?" How very limiting! Also, please define "respected." Respected by whom, doing what? There are stage hypnotists. There are therapeutic hypnotists. There are teachers. There are motivational speakers. There are hypnotists doing corporate coaching. If you explain yourself, your "project" and your sexist attitude, perhaps you'll get more of what you seek.

you certainly got off on the wrong foot here, didn't you? What would happen if I told you the best in the WORLD is a WOMAN? Would that totally destroy what you wish to write about?

I would throw the name Dr. Ernest Rossi at you but your chances of meeting and/or interviewing Dr. Rossi are less than zero. Unfortunately the greatest and the best died in 1980. His name - Dr. Milton H. Erickson, MD and he lived in Phoenix, AZ. He is also known as the "Father of Modern Hypnosis".

So what do you really want to accomplish with this supposed project of yours? Why exactly do they have to be men???? Is this something someone higher than you are decided upon?

NOTE: This Forum is staffed by Certified Instructors of Hypnotherapy and NLP Trainers. We volunteer our time and knowledge. It is owned by Dr. Matt James, who happens to own American Pacific University. Now since Dr. Matt teaches hypnosis all the way to the PhD level, I would assume that he knows something about it, wouldn't you? I would guess that your chances of meeting and interviewing Dr. Matt are also slim.

You can tell us what you really want, can you not?
