Hello, has anyone ever seen the intro to Derren Brown's TV show? Sometimes he has someone answer a payphone and they just fall asleep on the phone in the middle of the street ...
Is this really possible?
There are actually two questions here. Most people don't realize that which is part of the magic and charm of Brown. The two questions are:
1) Is it possible for a person to answer a pay phone on the street, go into a trance based on what they hear, and seemingly fall asleep?
and
2) Does Darren Brown actually do this or is it some form of magic illusion?
The answer to question 1: Sometimes, especially if the person has been hypnotized before and has "triggers" set so they are likely to easily go into trance.
The answer to question 2: He's a magician who writes books on magic tricks. Using a trick he will always succeed. Failures are only used to imply that what he is doing is by means of hypnosis.

This is one question that gets asked quite often around here. You may want to go up to the bar and click on "Search" and put in Derren Brown.
I know nothing about magic like Don does but I do believe Derren knows some hypnosis and even a little more NLP.
The last one I saw he was in some people's bedroom in the middle of the night. The man went to the photo booth in the morning for passport pictures and just happened to go deep into trance where he was picked up, wheeled around airports and taken to emerge in another booth in a foreign country. Was hypnosis involved at all? Maybe. Was NLP involved at all? NO. It was quite a shabby storyline if it were to portray a hypnotic trance of any type or kind.
Laws in the USA are quite different from the UK and I will promise you that if I were awakened by Derren Brown in the middle of the night, there would be no show as dear ole Derren would have died from multiple shots from a .38
Don -- do you still have that Poodle photo -- Don't mess with our Pood?
