Hi, Eqinos.
As I'm sure you know, NLP is not a single thing. It is a huge system. Part of that system, IMO, is not just knowledge of it, but really understanding intuitively the concepts. This is very difficult to grasp from books and written sources.
There are lots of web sites with information on various aspects of NLP. Their quality ranges from good to, uh, not so good.
But I'm going to suggest an absolutely great resource for you that is 100% free--your local library. If they don't have some books on NLP, chances are they can get some for you (through something called Interlibrary Loan) very quickly...and for free.
However, I'd like to recommend one book for you which explains some basic concepts of NLP that can be used for practical purposes. It's called Instant Rapport by a man named Brooks. You can get it through your library.
And keep on coming here. I'm sure there will be other people with suggestions, too.

hey don ,
thks for the recomendation
wat was the thing that got u interested in NLP.??
for me it was the fact that u could use it like magic to control urself and to influence others. heh
i don't claim to be an NLP person at all. However, I use some of the techniques and understandings. I became interested as it evolved from the teachings of Milton Erickson (and others).

im not at all interested in NLP to help your life and stuff like that, like hypnotherepy, i am only interested in the effects you can get from it.
Can you recommend any books that use NLP for tricks like what derren brown does?
