Hypnotic Stare?

Hello. I've heard in the past about a dog who could cause someone to go in to a trance by staring at them. Out of curiosity, last week I did a quick search on "hypnotic stare" and could only find vampire sites. Is it truly possible to put someone in a trance by staring at them? How is it possible and has anyone else heard of this hypnotic dog?

Ah yes, Skip has such a dog, as do I. Mine not only puts me into a trance, but without speaking, ensures that I take her out for walks, feed her, and even save her some of my own meal if she fancies it. She is so good, she almost never speaks at all except to warn before biting someone, which she sometimes does if they invade her territory.....

Oh yes, mine has me quite well trained too. Excellent rapport for clients. He LOVES everyone and has to greet them and finally "maybe" trances out with the session. Bet cha couldn't guess what kind!!

Ah yes I see,you want a dog that kills people with a stare eh? Well, I had one that came close. It was a sled dog (can't rmember the breed) It had a huge head, and an even bigger ruff behind it, and any time it stared at another dog, the dog fled for it's life. Never had any effect on me, except that when we went for walks, it led the way, because it was heavier than I was (G)..... I suggest if that is not close to what you are looking for, you are on the wrong board. We love our pets, and they love us.

Have just been reading about this guy in a book funnily enough. The dog is a prop in the show and does not hypnotise people!

Poor person. Where do they come up with these ideas.
I would suggest that they've clung onto any idea that sounds good, and appeals to the way they think that the universe should be. It is obviously a red herring. I suggest they perhaps look up mesmerism, as that is the closest I can think of to an hypnotic staring dog.

Well at least you guys now feel a little of how I feel whenever you come up with your lovely ideas of telekenisis, predicting the future, and even changing the genome through hypnosis.
I would laugh, but it just makes me cringe, as I'm sure this thread has done to you.

Justineer take a minute to read this, maybe it will help you understand your question a little more.

Justineer you are exactly the sort of person the dog could hypnotise, because your open to the belief that it could be true... no doubt your also highly suseptable to trance, I'm sure you understand this. Are you aware of times when your mind just switches off when doing repetative and/or mundane tasks, maybe you find yourself staring into space with a calm blank mind, maybe you find yourself just staring at your moniter while surfing the internet,not really reading just letting your eyes gaze over the words, maybe your the kind of person who can easily switch off when reading a book or surfing the net

i do an online show where the people that read the words i have typed fall easily into trance, i usually begin by asking them to focus on their breathing just think about that for a moment... the power of my words just like the power of hypno dog can send people into a really calm relaxed state, a lot of people have told me how relaxed they feel sitting in their chairs while me, a guy sitting on the otherside of the world just types a few calming words, they tell me how wonderful the trance is that i create for them, do you understand?

a hypnotist is really just a person who makes you belive you can enter into trance, so if you belive a dog can make you enter trance there is a good chance it will happen. however this will usually only work on people who are easily influenced

can you imagine what it must be like at hypnodogs show, picture yourself on stage looking into the dogs eyes, feel his gaze penetrating your mind, feel the your self relaxing as he stares into your eyes, notice how your breathing has changed,

your eyes are probably quite tired from all this staring

your already quite hypnotised, i'm sure your aware of that

gaze over my words, follow the numbers from ten to one, i'm sure your relaxed at home or at work now but imagine what it must be like to be twice as relaxed as you are now

with each decending number feel what it must be like to relax twice as much as you are, its amazing how quick we can relax, are you nearly ready for sleep?
