Hello,
I have a question about a hypnosis process and how it relates to NLP or if it does at all. I have some videos by an instructor of hypnosis and sometimes when he gives suggestions to a person that is in a somnambulistic state he will tap (rap) on their forehead. He explains that this is a way to distract the conscious mind so his suggestions will get through to the UC and sometimes it can actually be annoying to the client.
From an NLP point of view, wouldn’t this also be a way of anchoring? I was thinking that unless you had some indication of what the person is experiencing internally, you wouldn't have any idea what you were anchoring at the time, especially if it was annoying to the client. I would guess this forehead tapping is as old as the hills in hypnosis. I would also guess that it just a matter of finding another output system (V,A) to distract the conscious mind if that were needed but I thought I would be interesting to see what anyone here thought on this matter.
Thanks
