1 filter distorts the information, based on our belief structure.
1 filter generalizes the information for easier processing.
1 filter compares the information with that which is already thought of as fact [critical judgment], and blocks what is believed by the subconscious to be erroneous information. The Critical Judgment Faculty does not know if the information to be filtered is correct or not. It judges based on its current beliefs.
so what belief structure makes the mind filter it out?
a. doubting that hypnosis is going to help
b. doubting that "x" can change.
x = what ever the thing might be, confidence, stress, etc.
what if they doubt hypnosis can help, but do think X can be changed?
thanks

A belief is only a belief. Not a fact. A belief is "all moveable furniture".
We have ways of easily making nonresourceful beliefs go "poof".
101, think outside your box.
It might be A or B.
It might be A and B.
It might be something else combined with A and/or B.
Unknown,
Belief isnt doubt.
They dont doubt something works or doubt they can do something, they KNOW it.
So if you KNOW the milk is bad, it will taste bad when you put it to your lips.
If you KNOW you are unworthy, or that you ALWAYS fail, at this or that, you wont even try, or will self sabatoge, and will fulfill the prophesy.
See belief is what drives the engine.
Whatever you believe, your mind will endeavor to bring about, and anything counter to the belief, your mind will delete out, before you ever realize it consciously.
So everything you know, and everything you are allowed to percieve, is filtered by the gate keepers, your beliefs.
That is why it is so importent to drop the notion of believing what is 'right' and adopt believing what is useful.
Useful beliefs enahnce your life and open possibilities.
"Right" beliefs tend to limit, no matter if they are or not.
Now that isnt universally true, just almost universally true.

Most of the world's religions BELIEVE there is a God. Thousands and thousands of people have died for their beliefs in their certain God. Is God a fact? Have you personally met and talked with God? Is God male or female? What specifically did God have to say to you? What color is God's hair?
I have a very strong BELIEF there is God. I cannot prove it to anyone. Now for something that is a FACT. The sun rises in the East in the morning.
This I KNOW is true as it has happened every day that I have been on this Earth.
Okay -- now compare a BELIEF with a FACT. Beliefs can be changed. Facts are difficult to dispute as written above.
Belief stated as FACT: People that have cancer always die.
Challenge belief: Have you ever known of anyone that survived?
Poof! went that belief
Then certain BELIEFS can keep a person alive and well. Example: There is a certain medication that keeps me alive and makes my heart work correctly. (The gov't takes that medication off of the market and my Dr. is sure I will die without my belief in XYZ medication so he takes empty capsules and fills them with flour, corn starch or whatever and he tells me that this is just a newer and improved form of XYZ medication). My BELIEF in this XYZ medication is soooo strong that it keeps me alive and healthy even though there is nothing beneficial in those pills at all.
Interesting world, huh?

Maybe the earth moves west and the sun doesn't budge...
After listening to J Grinder state he has no beliefs and then listening to comments such as... How did you form that belief? etc... And one of his answers...
I decided to give the filter a chance... I gained more insights and learnings about myself it was mindblowing... I think...
'Act as if' you have NO BELIEFS and question some FACTS...
In fact a belief cannot exist in the moment, can it not?
They could be described as a thing of the past...
And i'm sure enough to be unsure about that...

Unknown,
Which belief structure do you want it to be for you? or would you like it to be for you? The Individual is the Meaning Maker for themselves. There is no meaning outside the individual for the individual.
Any x can be changed in numerous ways. Hypnosis is simply one (very) useful way. There are other useful ways to change any x.
I once encountered someone who doubted hypnosis and I asked what their definition of hypnosis was? I forget exactly what they said and yet I altered their state of consciousness shifted a couple of patterns and belief structures and brought them back to what they consider waking consciousness. I didn't call it anything, they just got the x they wanted and I didn't fight or argue with their doubt. Didn't address it directly, just went a more useful and playful way and got results.
