Hello Skip,

Thanks for posting that link. It sparked a very interesting and enlightening web searching session.

"One adult in five is flat out resistant to hypnosis, Dr. Spiegel said. The rest are in between, he said"

Respectfully, Dr. Spiegel don't know his stuff.

Yes, I caught that one Don, but fact is, he is commenting from what I must assume to be his own experience, and we all differ there. He is losing twenty percent, and during my time I lost less than five percent over the twenty year period of practise. However, he has done us a service by getting together data that would have taken us a long time to put together, so I gratefully accept. Thanks Skip for bringing it to our attention.... By the way, if the research leading to this article was based on laboratory techniques, I can well understand why the twenty percent failure rate. Ever tried testing for telepathy using those silly cards? That is the sort of testing that loses most intelligent people....

Whoofie -- such a low percentage. I wonder how we all made/make livings? Quite amazing is that he did know of Dr. Esdaile even tho not mentioned by name was practicing in India and came back to England and was told by the Royal Society of Medicine: "God created pain and the need for you to feel it. You are going against God's will". That was the end of that story. Also the author of this piece was basically describing biofeedback! We just don't need a machine to achieve it. At least it is favorable press. Maybe the world will catch on yet. You all should see the full page spread the paper here did on me. It was entitled: "You are getting ....very, very healthy. Very self-serving I must say. People are less afraid when they understand something. It is definitely framed and hanging in the office. Brought clients out of the woodwork. Thanks for sharing. Pood
